I was thinking of having this be video-game only related... but what the heck
So, what are you looking forward to in 2016? Myself, I should have my first book finished. Well, getting it published... maybe. We'll see, but that's exciting.

Game-wise, I'm really excited about Dark Souls III, the new Fire Emblems, and Dragon Quest VII and VIII. I'm more of a western-RPG person, and yet for the first time in a long time, I'm really excited about upcoming JRPGs!! 

It is an election year here in the USA which is always somewhat exciting. Especially since there is no incumbent running. As most of you know, we currently have Hilary on the Democratic side and uh... Trump (heaven help us) on the Republican side. By the way, I consider myself a moderate. But Trump...

Happy new year!!

Trump disrupts both sides so much, I want to see if either side is capable of derailing him. It will be entertainment gold watching him run in a general election. The political left and their bumbling infuriates me, but I'm also sick of moderate Republicans that can't answer questions and get buried for being douches as well. So even putting a Cruz or Rubio or Carson on the stage will spice things up.

Games-wise, I want to see how VR develops. That is kind of the big new thing right now (well, "new" in the sense that maybe they'll get it right this time). I remain skeptical on the outlook of gaming, but I will be following Street Fighter V at least.

Personally, a lot has been happening career-wise. Hoping to get out of the work rut I'm currently in and get into some greener pastures.

I'm just looking for 2015 to end. it's been a bad year for our family and friends...endless sicknesses, multiple divorces, and two deaths. I can't imagine 2016 being worse than 2015 was.

If all goes well, I'm hoping to get to play Mass Effect Andromeda and Kingdom Hearts 3 by the end of next year.

If either of these 3DS remakes are localized during 2016, they will highlight my year. They are the only two main-series DQs I haven't beaten (other than DQX because, well ... MMO, J-only, gah). People that know me know it's extremly rare for me to play franchises out of published/chronological order. Fortunately there were "trilogies." So I did IV V VI, then I played IX separate, then I did I-II-III on iOS. Very very excited to get to VII and VIII, which I'm told are some of the "meatiest" in the franchise.

I also hold out hope for a SaGa Scarlet Grace localization. I do NOT hold out hope for an Imperial SaGa localization, or a Romancing SaGa 2 vita port localization. But I would again be thrilled if either were to happen.

VGM-wise, I am hoping Banner Saga 2 comes out soon so I can check out more Austin Wintory goodness. I have high hopes for the SaGa Scarlet Grace soundtrack, and I'm crossing my fingers for more surprise arrange albums and box set announcements. After SuperSweep published that Langrisser I~III box, it makes me wonder what else they may acquire the rights to publish and then go for it.

Outside of games and VGM, my big hope for 2016 is to stay strong while in grad school and that my whole family stays healthy. That's about it.

Games-wise, I'm intrigued about what Steam might release. The enhancement release of the 1997 Turok N64 game has kept Steam on my radar. I'm also curious about the official Resident Evil 2 remake.

Game music-wise, it'll be the same as usual. Hope Cave releases something new, keep an eye out for Basiscape and Super Sweep albums and get anything else interesting. There is a newcomer to pay attention to: Brave Wave.

Books-wise, I'm looking forward to anything by Paolo Bacigalupi, Greg Egan, Rudy Rucker, Cixin Liu, Ted Chiang and the  (always perfect) recommendations by the editors at Scientific American.

This may seem kind of low-key, but I'm looking forward to new videos by the Gaming Historian, Vsauce and AVGN.

Movie-wise, I'm looking forward to X-Men Apocalypse and Batman vs Superman. I never watched the X-Men cartoon when I was younger, since it came out too late in my life (I focused on cartoons primarily from 1983-1987) and I remember my brother and other people speaking with great awe about some all-powerful Apocalypse character. I want to see the movie just based on the way people talked about the cartoon version of Apocalypse. Batman vs Superman looks to be atypical and unpredictable.

Game-wise, the new Zelda, the Nintendo NX, The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy XV and VII remake, to name a few.
I'll also meet the girl I know online, and I really hope Bernie Sanders wins.

If you attend some trade shows in the latter half of 2016, you will probably get to play those games in 2016. If you want to play them at your own house, well, we'll see.

Yeah, I dunno about Mass Effect, but there's no way KH3 is coming out this year, and certainly not in the West.
They need to get FFXV out the door first, which I'm pretty optimistic about actually happening this year.
