They are sooo 2005 cool

But they were good fun so I plan to keep them around for a while.  Posting of new topics has been disabled, but you can still post replies to existing topics for the next week or maybe two.   After that I will disable posting altogether.  Even then they will still be available for browsing.

If any of you who posted there recently feel your topics didn't have time to run their course, you are welcome to repost them in the new forums.  All except for that Nobuo Uematsu wannabe tongue

I'm still undecided whether to cry or not...

Ah well, yet another forum in my list of bookmarks where I stay logged in on a single computer while I likely won't remember the password elsewhere. =P

I'm glad you're going to be leaving the old forums there for browsing; there's a ton of great information in there and it'd be a real shame to lose it.  I think this is the best way a forum switch could have been handled.  Thanks Adam!

Seconded!

I'm going to miss being able to just look at the sub-thread subject headings to get the gist of a conversation, but let's see how it goes.

There is something kind of sad about leaving the old boards behind. It's just clinging to the past I suppose but I found the place back in '99 and it has been there all these years as part of my normal life. I do like the new boards but I'm sure, every now and again, I'll want to go take a look at the old ones.

Anyone remember when the new logo was put up and it was missing a letter? I think it said 'sountrack central' or something...

Man... it's like, the end of an era.  The site really changed (for the better) when we got forums.  We were able to communicate with each other using something better than the gamemusic.com usenet group.   tongue

I can dig this new setup, and I understand the need for an upgrade.  But still, I'm gonna miss the old boards.  sad

Yeah I know several people liked that aspect of the old forums.  I might have a custom-made solution for that issue, after I've squared away a few other things.  We'll see.

Thirded. I actually rely on that to dig up some of my old Marketplace postings. ^_~

And as for whoever talked about seeing just the subject headings (I'm sorry, I can't see posters' names right now...not sure if it's because of my browser or OS or both), I agree with that, as well. I really liked that aspect of the old forums; it made the thread easier to follow and easier to see who was responding to whom. Adam, if you could implement such a feature, that would be awesome. ^_^

Now all we need is for the actual site to be alive... big_smile maybe a user-driven model where members can submit their OST reviews?

Now that I've been using the new forums for a couple of days, I can honestly say I like the interface much better than the old. The old boards have character, to be sure, but this is an improvement, hands down.

Add me to the list of those who liked that function.  A custom solution that mimics that behavior,...now THAT would be cool...be careful though - depending onwhat you design, it may be useful in other applications outside of Soundtrack central (hint hint)

cheers

Ah, finally, some new forums! I dig the look and everything much more. While I didn't post too often at the old ones, I've been lurking for quite some time. Being able to look at the headers for threads was nice and all, but this is much better Also, maybe I'm the only one who had a problem with it, but I'm not getting any crazy punctuation marks after typing a & or " or whatever. big_smile
