Admittedly I'm not picking these up for myself but for my friend who helped me with my turntable set-up.

I'm just kind of curious how attractive this is being on vinyl. I know that vinyl is making somewhat of a comeback but do a many VGM fans have setups?

I did pick up the FFVII vinyls for my friend last Christmas. Kinda pricey... maybe I should look into getting another set at some point. There's the Final Fantasy Vinyls... but I'd imagine those are pricey as well.

Definitely into the format, but as I'm still going through college, haven't had much to speak of for an expendable budget..

Man, I'd love to hear Journey on vinyl. It's up there for me with OSTs of recent years: NieR, Ni no Kuni, and Opoona.

You didn't get a chance to hear your FFVII gift, did you? Curious to know how it would compare to the original .PSF files from the game. Could it get any better than the original files? Ha.. I've no idea!

Had I more money, I'd probably be dabbling into the few VGM/Anime releases on the format.. the Mother vinyl kickstarter reward, older Sugiyama DQ Symphonies, Hisaishi anime soundtracks of the 80s, and Bioshock's "I Am Rapture" soundtrack.

I don't know if it was "better" per say... but my friend tried out the set after I gave them to him and it did sound pretty damn awesome on his surround sound, especially compared to the computer speakers I usually hear the tracks through.

Holy 1982!

Actually...what are you talking about? At first I assumed the band Journey, but this is in the VGM section.

Got a e-mail message about a problem with the Journey JPs:

The status of your Journey vinyl order.

Last week iam8bit received thousands of completed Journey vinyl sets straight from the plant, on time as planned.

Upon reviewing a few of the vinyl, we discovered a quality control issue that prompted us to systematically go through the records box by box. We unfortunately found the problem to be consistent and widespread throughout the run.

iam8bit has a reputation for releasing quality, upstanding products, so to us… this defect is unacceptable.

Luckily, this discovery, though disheartening, was made before sending you an unsatisfactory product. While we were super excited to ship the Journey vinyl last week, we have no choice but to delay shipping until the plant can deliver a version that meets our high standards. We do not have a specific date of completion yet, but we expect an update very soon. You will NOT be waiting an excessive amount of time - that is certain.

We understand that many of you have been eagerly awaiting your vinyl and we humbly apologize for this delay. As a tissue with which to soak up your disappointment, and as a thank you for your patience, we’d like to offer you a 20% discount on a future iam8bit purchase. Please expect a personalized discount code to be emailed to you by late next week.

Love,

iam8bit

I'm not upset or anything myself. Depending on how the situation goes I may be selling off the copy I ordered because things with the person I ordered it for have kind of hit the rocks. However, please don't take this as a guarantee of that.

Yeah no rush for my copy and the 20% off is a nice bonus.
