Some people love CAH to throw money at them for no direct reward.  It's not very surprising.

I like CAH myself... but give them money for nothing? No, I don't love it that much.

I'm amused at how successfully they make money by trolling people on Black Friday.  I believe this is the third year in a row they've done it (as I recall last year was the box of literal bullsh*t and the year before was charging twice as much for everything on their site).

Amused is one way to put it. I can understand people liking or loving their stuff. Still, just throwing money at them for nothing seems stupid. Again, I would give money to a non-profit that does good work, not to any company. At least some of the employees gave some of the money they earned (by doing nothing) to charity.

Well consider this....the game is offered free for the cost of printer paper and ink. There's also a free online version. I can see people wanting to toss a few bucks their way in appreciation without buying a physical copy of the game.

Are you sure that's true? Wal-Mart sells them for $39.99 and that is certainly far above cost.

The Cardcast Android game is basically a third-party CAH clone that runs on Chromecast and is great for parties.  And it's allowed to exist even though it competes with a physical product.  The CAH folks are certainly worthy of donations.
