The Little Jack Orchestra will be performing music from Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Dragon Quest I for their upcoming annual concert in Tokyo on Nov.14.  This is the same fan orchestra that arranged and performed the Final Fantasy VI concert to die for last year, so to anyone who will be remotely near the Tokyo area at that time I highly recommend attending!

Ticket pre-orders run from Oct. 17 to Oct. 22, with regular ticket sales beginning Oct. 31.

The first half of the program leading up to the intermission will consist of the entire Dragon Quest I symphonic suite (of which I can't wait to hear "Unknown World" and "Finale" live).  The second half of the program will consist of what must be original arrangements for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.  I'll post a full translation of the program later but suffice it to say that "Frog's Theme", "Battle with Magus", "The Trial", and "Schala's Theme" are all in there.

Dammit, I need that Chrono Trigger concert to LIVE!

Please, someone make sure they get the rights to release this on CD!

Did anyone attend this concert???

Adam Corn Feb 18, 2011

Yes.  I'd meant to post impressions but never got around to it.

It wasn't on the level of the same orchestra's Final Fantasy VI concert (neither the venue nor the performance, nor the source material for that matter) but it was still a very enjoyable show and an impressive showing for an amateur orchestra.

I found myself enjoying certain pieces (the battle themes, the ending theme) that never stood out to me in the OST, while favorites like Guardia Millenial Fair and The Trial ~ The Hidden Truth were all I'd hoped for.

And Frog's Theme vs. Battle With Magus rocked my world.

I have some notes typed out already so will try to get them posted in the future.

Cool Adam, I'll look forward to reading more.

I know Little Jack doesn't sell CD's, but what are the chances that somebody recorded this or other Little Jack concerts?  For most of the other game concerts it's always easy to find amateur recordings, Youtube videos, etc.

I tried searching for it on Youtube Japan and Google using the hiragana spelling straight off the Little Jack website (リトルジャックオーケストラ) but I didn't have any luck... my Japanese is terrible though and I was basically doing all my work through Google translator. smile  Do you (or any other posters here) speak it fluently?  Maybe we can do a little more detective work and find something.
