So recently my computer speakers died and have been stuck with headphones at my desktop while I work. It's getting tiring after 8-9 hours straight, so I am shopping around for a replacement set. I looked into a few brands like Klipsch, Mackie, and MAudio so far, but I don't have much knowledge in this area. Anyone have recommendations based on their own setup? I'd like to keep the price below $500.

I heard that for the price, Orb is one of the best speakers you can purchase. Also, they are small which is nice for those of us that don't have a great deal of space!

Now my disclaimer, I don't have orb speakers, but eventually I would like to upgrade and purchase a set.

Creative Inspire T12 is a nice bang-for-your-buck set of speakers.

I ended up going with CR4s. Waffled for quite awhile between this and M-Audio AV40s but ultimately just pulled the trigger on these when I read they ran cooler; my workstation is hot enough in the summer... Would have liked Rokits but at twice the price I paid shipped for this pair, it was just outta my budget for now.
