what are the chances of a remake ever happening?
or at least a reissue that runs at 60fps like NAMCO did with the ps1 Ridge Racer in 1999?

Don't get me excited like that, dammit.

when i first saw the preview pics for MGS Cubed on muze.com (Colombia House's final incarnation before the BMG 'takeover')..

heh, same feeling as seeing the first pictures of MK2 in egm back in late '93..

i was in 9th grade english class and mesmerized by the pics of THE DEAD POOL stage (and female ninjas this time?!? whoa Scorpion & Subby, look out!).

then we got to play the first ver. at The Rink (it's gone now) and a lot of the blood (High Punch-High Punch-High Punch for example) had yet to be implemented.

We were like 'This sucks?!?!?' so we got out our Sony MDR-34 headphones and played SamSho1 with Jubei, Charlotte, Haohmaru and Gen-an for 3 hours straight.

Ah, those were the days..

You know, its so very ironic that you mention this, as I just picked up the game a few days ago.  I had the American version from several years ago and had spent a decent (but not exceptional) amount of time playing it (combined with the fact that I was much worse with these sorts of games back then than I am now) before selling it.  I just picked up the Japanese version on eBay and it arrived just a few days ago.

Wow, I am so bad at this game.  Its as much a puzzler as a game, sometimes!  To get a decent score you've got to know what to attack, how to attack, which ammo to conserve and which to drop!  Damn!  Psyvariar is pretty puzzling but for some reason it comes together a lot more naturally then this!

So thats that.  I wouldn't expect a remake but thats ok, the game is damn awesome on its own.  By the way, visit the shmups! board for high scores and see how you stack up.  Least you should be able to do is beat my old and poor US-ver. score!  http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph … c771471ef8

I wouldn't expect a remake, but it'll probably show up on the PlayStation Store eventually.

It's not April 1st. Even though I spent little time playing Einhander, the idea of a remake is very appealing.
