Oh my - these 'new' tracks from the PSP FF1 are totally unexpected. 'Decisive Battle', 'Battle 2' (FFV) and 'Fatal Fight on the Big Bridge' are terrific; the others just kind of mediocre. Sigh... I didn't want to have to buy this version; SE knows just how to put just 'enough' in each of these awful rereleases to make suckers like me bend over and shell out again and again.

Bravo, thanks for these.  Puttin' me out of a job, I see. ;D (then again, had I planned on decoding them, I would've done so already :p)

Which program did you use to decode the .at3 in FF1?
I really like the new additions (tracks 6-10) and I guess I'll be picking up that game when it comes out this month, bleh. :P

As for the DQ stuff... off the top of my head, actual song names if I remember them, otherwise, where I remember hearing the song in the game:

01 - only the lonely boy (dq2 journey select screen)
02 - dq8, some town theme
03 - dq8 casino theme
04 - ending theme, but i can't remember which game :(
05 - tantagel castle theme, dq1
06 - dq1 battle
07 - dq4 ramia's theme
08 - no idea, but probably a boss battle theme
09 - dq3 town theme
10 - think it's from dq6, but i don't know
11 - dq8 overworld theme
12 - dq8 battle theme
13 - don't know
14 - dq8 boss battle theme, i'm pretty sure
15 - overworld theme from either dq5 or dq6
16 - dq5 or dq6 battle theme
17 - dq3 overworld theme
18 - dq3 final battle theme
19 - dq4 casino theme (one of the most timeless tunes mr. sugiyama has ever composed, I think)
20 - dq4 battle theme

Hopefully that helps a little bit.
Who did the new FF arrangements on Itadaki?  Sounds a little bit like Sekito, but it's hard to tell.

Don't you just love it when companies do that?

lordskylark Jun 3, 2007

I have the same number of tracks - I just placed them into order by game.

lordskylark Jun 3, 2007 (edited Jun 3, 2007)

For the program... first I used a program called "Extractor" which went through and searched the entire ROM for files (all AT3 files are WAV).

Then I renamed the wavs to AT3.

Then I used another program called
HIMDRENDERER to convert the AT3 to actual regular WAV files.

I'd like to see if that program could work with the FF11 ATRAC files, but I don't have the game anymore or the expansions.
Or if it would work with the Dirge of Cerberus tracks.

Blessings,
~Andy

And for reference, FF2 PSP has no new tracks (just straight recordings from the PSX OST)
