Yes.

Great - another cd that wont fit on my shelf because of stupid packaging like a dvd...

Qui-Gon Joe Mar 2, 2006

I couldn't agree more.  Hopefully the regular version will be in a normal sized case.  Not that I care... this is the first Final Fantasy main series ost I'm not really very interested in getting.  It would be nice for the rest of you to get what you want, though!  The Grandia III limited edition sticks out annoyingly on my shelf and I've not yet seen any other version of it in stores.

Same here. I'm still waiting on a "normal" Grandia III one.

heh, I could careless about what the CDs come in. All I'm after is the music. This will get pre-ordered on the spot. I know people have their preferences and what not but you guys just sound hella picky, no offense. Who cares what it comes in as long as you get the music? I bought the Grandia III OST with the DVD case and I don't have a single problem with it.

Matt Rees Mar 2, 2006

Its because im totally picky about my cds being neat and tidy and such a odd shape messes up my order haha

Four CDs of Sakimoto. I'm in heaven.

What??? It's so beautiful!

Really though, unordinary packaging doesn't matter to me, so I'll be happy getting this one!

FFVIII and XI limited soundtracks were also huge - I'm happy to see this one will be too. After all, a limited Final Fantasy soundtrack is not a common item... FFXI limited was a wonderful object. I'm waiting for CDJapan to add it to their catalog. I'm not Sakimoto's biggest fan, but I recently fell in love with Vagrant Story. Sure, FFXII is different, but I'm convinced I'm going to like his work.

For some reason... I am not very optimistic.  I've been listening to a lot of Radiant Silvergun lately, and Sakimoto's more recent works just don't have the same kind of... heart.  I'm expecting one or two completely killer tracks, another three or four memorable

Anyway, with any luck (if SE uses the same kind of compression (that is, none) on the FFXII disc that they used on the FFXII demo), I may have a PSF2 set out within 24 hours. *whistles*

You better!  I just hope you can download the ISO faster than last time with (I think it was) Kingdom Hearts II.  The one where the first download ended up being some porn or something even though they labeled it as KH2.  I'm sure that crap will happen again too, since FFXII is much more of a major release.

Wanderer Mar 7, 2006

I pre-ordered it as well...

As for the PSF2s, it's hard to say how much of the music in the game is streamed... or embedded in the FMVs. I'm not sure if Sakimoto was blessed with an orchestra this time around.

Which brings up a good question... Is is possible to rip the music from a game like Dirge of Cerberus where a good majority of the tracks use real instruments?

I hope your concerns do not become a reality. Good luck with the PSF2. That would make my day smile

Heh, that's what happened with Dirge of Cerberus.

but yeah, apparently there was this news floating around 2ch and all this crap about "omg FFXII was leaked, you can get it at these places blah blah" and some goob started a thread at GameFAQs about it too, which was promptly deleted.
...yeah, well, I just finished downloading it, and it's a fake.  It's actually the PS2 game CLANNAD.  The FFXII RAR floating around is a copy of 24: The Game.

So... we keep waiting. *taps fingers impatiently*
I know a guy who pre-ordered the game who lives about an hour away, so if he somehow gets his copy before it shows up, I'll just drive an hour to get it.

I'm gonna have to disagree here.  I didn't really start liking Sakimoto until he started branching out beyond his same-old martial music that fills FFT, OB, TO, and RS.  For me, he started to get  into his groove with Vagrant Story, Legaia 2, and BoF5.  While nothing in the FF12 demo sounded interesting, I believe Sakimoto is one of the few major game music composers who hasn't peaked yet, so I'm hoping for good things.

Mines preordered, will have to go on my dvd shelf but who cares really? smile

That sums it up pretty well, I'd say. I dig FFT a lot, but didn't get into RS+ or his Ogre soundtracks. Gradius V, BOF:V, Legaia Duel Saga... Vagrant Story... they're all different sides of the same composing style, and I have a great feeling about FFXII and beyond.

Svenlove2003 Mar 15, 2006

Anyone has pre-ordered it from Yesasia?Do you know if they are really selling the Limited Edition OST?I'm asking that cause it's not noted anywhere, and usually they write limited edition so...

He and his music seem to show up at the strangest times.

Sabreman Mar 16, 2006

Bit of fan-pleasing reference I guess.
