I know this game is a few years old (the GBA one), but I've recently been getting into it and REALLY enjoying it. Has anyone else played this sucker? Effective music too.

I just finished Lyn's story and was surprised to note that I actually cared about the characters and was sad to see them split up. The game has to be doing something right...

This is my favorite game on the GBA.  My favorite RPG series is Shining Force and since no new (good) SF games have been made, this has been an excellent substitute.  I love how characters die you can't get them back.  Gives more of a challenge and makes you actually care for them.  Most RPG's I can get away with not needing a few of the characters and you stop leveling them or forget about them completely.  Was the exact opposite for me in this game.

I always restart when I lose a character. wink

Glad your enjoying it, it's one of my favorites too.  Coincidentally, I'm playing through it too now (on Hard mode).  You've probably figured this out by now, but everyone in Lyn's story resurfaces in Eliwood's story.  Once I'm done Eliwood's story on Hard mode, I'm gonna tackle Hector's story on Hard mode (which I hear is even more challenging than Eliwood's story).  Be sure to play through Lyn's story first anytime you want to replay Hector or Eliwood's quest, otherwise all the characters from Lyn's quest that meet up with in Eliwood/Hector's quest will be severly under-leveled (for instance, Kent and Sain will only be level 4 Cavaliers instead of picking up where you left them in Lyn's story).

And oh yeah... if anyone dies, I automatically soft reset.  Not a one of my characters are gonna die!  I'm actually a big fan of this 'death-is-final, no-resurrection' feature...

Hang on!  If memory serves, the soft reset doesn't work on the GBA FE, which is one reason it's quite annoying to lose a character!

cheers,
