XISMZERO Nov 1, 2016 (edited Nov 22, 2016)

I remember looking for these in 2002. They were hard to come by then, but obtainable. I sold my Goemon 6 OST a couple years back for $200. Man, I wish I held on a little longer. Goemon 5 and 6, respectively...

http://page24.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a … q133518284 Sold for approx. $1,635 (USD)
http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h241969325 Sold for approx. $913 (USD)

EDIT: Both copies had obis.

These contend to be the highest priced albums I know of. Clarice Disc should get their asses on a premium re-release for these albums. Especially since Konami really screwed up with these feeble 1 disc releases, leaving heaps of tracks either too short or non-existent. I still cannot understand why someone would pay over a grand for these given those issues...

The_Paladin Nov 1, 2016

Wow the market on them has just kept inflating and I'm not sure anyone can explain it.  Though as far as Clarice Disc, there are still plenty of NES/SNES titles that never had any release I'd love someone to take care of...

Wow, well there are two video game soundtracks whose price hasn't collapsed but expanded, just like the Universe smile

Rrolack Nov 1, 2016 (edited Nov 1, 2016)

I'll be honest, I was bidding seriously on one of these, but was forced to drop out well below the final selling price.

Also, if anyone has a nice and complete KICA-7943, for which they'd accept somewhat less than $1800, do drop me a line smile

Just wait until it gets reprinted smile
OK, it may not. Who knows. Oh, and why on Earth is this soundtrack so expensive???

Amazingu Nov 2, 2016

It's Konami, there's NO WAY it's going to be reprinted.

Unless it's as a pachinko machine.

No! There is hope! Clarice Disc met the far off dreams of many in past years releasing beautiful looking boxed collections of music from all kinds of underrepresented games (Final FIght, for me) and companies (Sunsoft!) including Konami, who saw some western obscurities re-released: MADARA and Lagrange Point complete and even previously unreleased material! This is what the Goemon titles need because Konami themselves got cheap with the ridiculous collector's fodder that is the original pressings. Anybody whose played Goemon 6 (Great Adventure) knows how much its CD release sucked because of how much was missing/shortened to cram on one disc. The only thing we may not get the composer credits, given Clarice's history...

The_Paladin Nov 2, 2016

Well, one of the things I was referencing, has Jackal (another Konami classic) ever appeared on disc?  But there's a surprising number of Enix games Clarice could package together:  Illusion of Gaia, RoboTrek, Brain Lord, 7th Saga, and especially Actraiser 2.

Every time I see the value of these discs, I get really tempted to sell mine.  The music is so great, and I love having them in my collection, but dang, that's a lot of money...

If you need an excuse for keeping them, just tell yourself it's hard to sell these for big money outside of Japan (which is probably true).

I'm still laughing at myself for thinking that no one bidding on it with one day left meant that it had gone unnoticed and that I should consider bidding on it.

The one with the yellow cover price somehow has sharply distanced itself from the price range of the blue cover SNES soundtrack. The green covered one usually starts off at 30,000 yen, but this seller started it for a third of that. Maybe the lowered starting price caught reasonable people off-guard (a rare soundtrack selling at a rare price), made them less prone to caution, and got them to buy the soundtracks for far higher than they would have at the standard default top-price tier auction listings.

Rrolack Nov 26, 2016

Thankfully the soundtracks from the NES and SNES Goemons have remained "affordable," at least relative to the N64 ones.  I picked up a copy of the SNES one today, with obi and registration card, for less than 30,000 yen.

Dang, that's still what, $265. Still not sure why those soundtracks are so expensive, but hey, congrats smile

In the wake of that (overpriced, IMO) 181,000 YJA sale for KICA-7943, sadly new listings are popping up at around that same price.  Otokichi Premium is now trying to get 162,000 yen for their copy:

http://www.otokichi.com/cgi-bin/en/deta … i=0&fnew=0

and another one was recently on YJA for 170,000 yen (it didn't sell).

I'm hoping this isn't the "new normal" for this album...

I regret even more not bidding a higher amount on the sealed Akumajou Dracula: Ubawareta Kokuin soundtrack + DS game. I was the second highest bidder at $80 USD or so and the DS game itself is worth at least $50. It was on eBay 3-6 months ago, being sold by an American seller.

Does anyone else recall seeing it?

The_Paladin Dec 15, 2016

I was looking through sold auctions on ebay and saw a Pony Canyon Mario Kart 64 go for $10.  You always find items going for ridiculously low prices after the fact.

Opposite of the topic, but I always wonder when albums are next to worthless and they aren't dramas.  One example I always remember is the DigiCube Ragnarok Online... I enjoyed the music, and while it's definitely not rare, I remember seeing tons listed at $10 or less
