I'm beginning to wonder if Ubisoft Montreal ever does any sort of debugging in any of their games. Admittedly TTT isn't nearly as bad as Warrior Within was (i.e. I haven't yet been killed by a glitch such as rewinding time not actually putting things back), but I have had things like a random woman reading the names of development staff during gameplay instead of the sound files that are supposed to be playing.  ...until NOW, that is.  What I need to know is - are any of the sand gates actually required?  My game has glitched such that every sand gate after the sixth sand tank upgrade continues giving me sand tank upgrades instead of giving me what they're supposed to.  This means I didn't get the 200 sand points or whatever and I can't get the next sand power.  I even reloaded a save from before the glitch started and it just replicated itself again when I arrived at the sand gate where it all started.

Ugh.  I really want to love this game series, but the lack of polish and the fact that they're glitchy as hell just oozes unprofessionalism.  >:(

That's actually an easter egg. I bet you climbed way up some pole somewhere and it started happening. It's kind of a dumb easter egg, but what can you do. That's not a glitch, though.

Taken from GameFAQs Codes & Secrets:

"Sound Credits

This occurs during your second Dark Prince transormation while in the courtyard immediately before a chariot race. In the corner of the courtyard, there will be a hole in the ceiling that respawns enemies until you leave the area. (Near the panel you need to stab and hang from to open the gate) Climb the closest pole to the hole in the ceiling and a female voice will start announcing sound credits for the game."

No. They're all either Sand Points (worthless once you beat the game since it unlocks everything), Sand Tanks (not necessary to get them all) or special abilities (never used in-game as a must-have to proceed). That really sucks about your game save, but it's not crippling enough to warrant a restart.

One bit of advice, however: make sure that you keep the tutorials ON throughout the game. There's a big glitch that will occur near the end that will black-screen the game. I guess the text in that scene is tied to the tutorial text for some reason. I have no idea. Either way, keep the letters on and you'll be golden.

Yeah, agreed here. WW was fun, but way glitchy. SOT wasn't bad at all, but these two seem to have bugs all over the place. I think it was that whole pump-one-out-every-year mentality and/or contract that the dev team had. I think SOT's dev cycle was longer, and gave the team more time to test for bugs. The platforming is some of the best out there, and the games are cool enough to overlook the unprofessional parts of the games.
