You guys may remember that we started up the Ask Hibino feature last month where fans send their questions and Hibino replies to them personally on OSV.  Somebody asked him a question about the Etrian Odyssey arrange albums, and Hibino mentioned that he wanted to look into creating an arrange album for Actraiser.

He mentions that it would be stylistically similar to the Live Piano and Strings album they're putting out for Etrian Odyssey next month, but when I asked him for clarification, he was thinking maybe a relaxing bossa nova chillout kinda album.  What do you guys think?

Wow! I didn't expect to get any hints on a non-Etrian Odyssey related arranged album when I asked that question. I'm sure some might disagree, but I think a strings/piano Actraiser arranged album would be quite awesome.

Well, my thought was that there was already a sort of orchestral/instrumental arrange album.  I like the idea of a bossa nova/relaxing kinda album.  It's different.

I'd vote for tracks like "Birth of the People" and "Sacrifices" to be included, but would pretty much buy it no matter what is there or what style is used.

Heh, "Birth of the People" is my favorite track from the game.  Was listening to it all day yesterday after posting the Ask Hibino stuff.

Only if it uses a considerable amount of material from Actraiser 2.

I need to catch up on Actraiser 2.  There was never an official standalone soundtrack, right?  But it was featured on one of his latest "Yuzo Koshiro Collection" albums or something?  Was the music as good?

I haven't heard it in a long time but I remember it being pretty bad actually.  It was during his "WTF?" phase, along with Story of Thor and what not.

I'm interested in the Actraiser 2 music simply because I expect interpretations of it's awkward score would be more interesting than takes on the music we already heard on the Symphonic Suite. The Actraiser 2 music has a lot more "noise" to it, due to Koshiro trying even harder to mimic an orchestral score...
