Legend of Game Music: 10-CD set with 2 DVDs

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SCDC-473

Looking at the huge "2" plastered in the lower-right corner, I'm assuming this is the second set. I vaguely remember another such collection, but then again it seems like like there have been quite a lot of multi-disc VGM collections released. Anyone planning on ordering this?

Carl Jan 20, 2006

Yep, I've already placed an order for BOTH of Scitron's upcoming Legend Boxes.

Legend of Game Music 2 Box (which you're referring to) but there is also another 3rd boxset which comes out on Feb 22nd called Legend: CONSUMER version box, phew!!

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SCDC-497

"Box set includes nine CDs and one DVD covering a selection of games for a variety of home game consoles including the Sega Master System, MSX, TurboGrafx-16, Sega Genesis, X68000, and more. Includes many tracks available for the first time ever on CD, and some items that have been out-of-print for years. All tracks remastered. Also includes deluxe 48-page booklet and special box design."

So I'll have to report on these both of these massive boxes once they arrive...

LOTS of money spent, but hopefully they'll be worth it!!

carl, did you happen to get the first box? i had planned to get it, but quit my job shortly before being able to place a pre-order, and it seemed too damn expensive after that.

Are there tracklists available for these boxes anywhere?  They're way too expensive to make an experimental purchase.

I'm really tempted to pick it up.  If anyone has it, how are the arrangements?

No, at the time I had passed on buying the first box...
But it has been around for sale on Yahoo Japan Auctions (unopened even) so the possibility is there to pick it up eventually.

Also, For anyone who bought Suleputer's Makaimura Boxset, let me know cause I'd like to work out a trade or something...

Well, otaku.com has the first and second boxes available for sale ($140 for the first, $145 for the second).  He also has separate discs from the second box set available (at $24.95 apiece) if you just want some of the music.
