Elysian Shadows has reached their $150,000 funding goal! I think for those that like "classic" games such as Chrono Trigger and other old-school JRPGs, this is something you want to back.

Night Trap!
Anyone remember that "classic" Sega CD game? Well, it's getting updated. Or so the producers hope. However, due to a rather lackluster kickstarter campaign, it currently does not look like they'll reach their goal, which is too bad. They really have some great rewards at great prices. A physical PS3 game autographed for only $40!

I'm glad you put parentheses around the word "classic" because I would have had to go on a long rant that the game is only memorable for the controversy it caused.

Not to sound like an ass here, but I'm kind of irked the this one email I just got from Square Enix.

It was about crowd fundraising for a game called "Moon Hunters" but...

if SE has a hand in this game why would/should I donate?

If I was going to donate to a kickstarter it would be one without ties to a large corporation.

I haven't been pleased with SE's output for years, so...

Seems that Square Enix is just giving a platform for games like Moon Hunters to get some views and so on, they even have a website for the whole Collective thing.

I think it's good when bigger companies actually do pick up smaller devs/ideas and show them around and then let those devs/ideas grow.

Human Resources

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/65 … c-rts-game

"Human Resources is a PC real-time strategy game that puts you in command of apocalyptic factions vying to conquer the drifting remains of a shattered Earth. Using humans as your resource, assemble giant armies to annihilate your foes, then feed the newly-cleansed Earthshards to your almighty leader."

It's like Godzilla + Lovecraft + SimCity = awesome

Well, hopefully it = awesome, we'll see. Certainly looks promising and original, and frankly humans are totally overrated...

OK, so apparently I missed this for quite a while as there is not much time before it ends, but for all intents and purposes this is Clock Tower 4.  The creator/director is the same guy who made Clock Tower afterall.  Michiru Yamane and Nobuko Toda composing.

Nice catch! I barely made it smile
At what level did you pledge?

If they get 130K there will be fully orchestrated music by Mitsuda (though from what they are saying he won't compose anything otherwise)

Well seeing as they have a composer on their staff I can assume that even with Mitsuda that he won't be doing a majority of the score.  I can see a big difference from their original launch, though they are asking for much less money (which why it's already funded).  What they're trying to do seems a bit of a reach for a small team, but nevertheless I'm a bit interested... so wondering whether to pledge or not still.

Yes, I believe they mentioned Mitsuda would write 10 tracks. But the project description doesn't really say he won't write anything if it doesn't hit the goal -- I was half under the impression if it didn't he'd still contribute, just it'd be synth.

Sorry missed your reply. I pledged for collector's edition.

I've backed a couple orange ones on that list, which while I was already concerned, I am now moreso.

Cryamore is the only one I supported which is in orange. I'm not worried, since they seem to be making good progress, even if they're rate of updates has been slow. You never know what may happen...
