The Daver May 9, 2020

Hi, I'm new here.

Is this forum still active? Is anyone still here?

I found this forum by doing a search for the Kingdom Hearts 3 soundtrack.

From the looks of things, no official release of the Kingdom Hearts 3 soundtrack has been made, aside from the vocal opening and closing themes.

Can anyone here confirm or disaffirm this?

If it's actually available someplace, please let me know.

For some bizarre reason it hasn't been released yet. I asked Shimomura at the KH Orchestra concert and she said she has no control and didn't know but that could have just been a generic response.

Disney has become rather over-protective of their IP's lately. I'm assuming it has something to do with that. Probably the same reason the more recent Marvel vs Capcom games haven't seen soundtrack releases.

Ouch.

Well, that answers that.

Only just started playing the game recently, and I'm not ashamed to say I stopped playing the game in the middle of it and put the SFX on mute just to listen to the theme for Olympus for 3 straight hours. Maybe it was 5, actually. I started reading a blog or two just so I had something to do while listening to it.

Don't worry, I made sure to find a safe place away from all the action before putting the controller down.
Camped right next to a save point.

Thanks for the info, guys.

I found the soundtrack the weakest of the series so far (they reeeeally need to stop supplementing Shimomura OSTs with Square's weaker composers - FFXV was guilty of this too) BUT I still overall enjoyed it and assumed there would be a soundtrack release long before now.  I find it especially strange considering how every other KH game has gotten one AND there's an orchestral album floating around out there with music from this game on it.  I check VGMDB basically every other day to see if there's a mention of this in upcoming releases.

At this point, I think I'm going to resort to making an audiorip myself or *gasp* downloading an unofficial audiorip from someplace.

I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS SOUNDTRACK.

Went ahead and bought the $4 "Face My Fears" 4-track vocal EP off of AMZN MP3, if only to support the release and communicate to Square-Enix that they need to release more of their soundtracks digitally. Maybe they can be coaxed into providing them in FLAC? Those vocal tracks are good, though. I could listen to "Face My Fears" and "Think Twice" for hours on end, and I HAVE.

P.S. Buying off of Bandcamp.com is great. You can get the music as FLAC, MP3 320kbps and MP3 VBR. Quite a few of my favorite artists have started releasing on Bandcamp as well (Hello, Thievery Corporation!) If I can buy off of Bandcamp versus AMZN MP3, I do (And I try to buy my books off of Barnes & Noble.com, versus AMZN, as well. I want B&N to be able to stay in business, too).

Thank you, and good night for now.

P.S.S. Check out my sale: http://soundtrackcentral.com/want-to-se … ime/tp8586

Daddy gots to buy himself a new pair of EVERYTHING (Car needs to be fixed in 3 ways, plus A/C unit needs to be replaced, but don't let me guilt you into buying anything or something - even if I sold everything I'm offering, it wouldn't cover a single thing in its entirety. Still, every little bit helps. I'm trying to NOT turn to eBegging if I don't have to. After all, who's got money to just GIVE AWAY these days?)

Yep - finally an official release confirmed - and it's HUGE.  This may be a trend for big box sets that are pretty darn expensive for those of us who are still collecting actual CDs.

Yes, I think they've realized that the masses aren't buying music physically anymore, but collectors will still buy, so why not up your average ticket to make up for the loss in volume?

I'm honestly okay with this as long as they keep producing them and making them generally available (i.e., as long as they're not region exclusive or locked behind game CEs I'm not interested in)

Thanks for pointing this out.

That said, I think I'm just going to wait on AMZN MP3 or other such digital release.

Already bought the vocal singles off of AMZN MP3; hopefully if enough people do that, it'll signal to Square-Enix to release the KH3 soundtrack there as well.

I stopped playing the game when I figured out that the soundtrack wasn't officially released, so as not to torture myself.
