allyourbaseare's Meshuggah post inspired me to share smile

So last week Soilent Green released their new album Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction. Great stuff, love their sludgy-grindcore sound. So I made my usual trip to go buy music, but I didn't want to just pick up one album (I have to drive 40 miles to get to the nearest record shop). After browsing the metal racks for awhile I picked up and bought Lair of the Minotaur's War Metal Battle Master (also Brain Drill's Apocalypse Feasting).

I had heard of Lair of the Minotaur before, but never really thought of picking up their older stuff. But I heard so much hype about this album I figured I should give it a listen.

WHOLLY f---. This stuff is exactly what I love. Think a more pissed-off Mastodon with a bit of death metal sprinkled in. Absolutely no filler in this 8 song beast. I can't recommend this enough to anyone who loves thrash. This cd hasn't left my player for days. So rather than ramble on more here's a sample:

Assassins of the Cursed Mist is my favorite track off this album so I had to include that in there.

Thanks for the heads-up Zorby!

I'm downloading the samples right now and I can't wait to give them a listen.  I've been toying with the idea of doing a weekly metal post just to promote other stuff than VGM.  Of course, I know that the idea of posting entire albums on here is a bit taboo, but as far as I'm concerned, we're all consenting adults and if we really wanted something, we'd go out and buy it.

Mastodon + Death Metal = MFW.

I'd definitely be interested in this. I wish I could throw up full albums as well, but that RAR of only two tracks alone took 2 hours. XD

I just ripped a few albums tonight so I can throw samples up off those other two albums I mentioned; as well as Heaven Shall Burn's new one.

Already got HSB's new one and it's taking some getting used to.  The first 3 or 4 tracks all seem to blend together - One verse of pounding double bass followed by a measure of silence - but it is growing on me.  I believe track 7 sounds like something straight out of In Flames playbook.
