Over the years, I've been able to purchase some old factory sealed soundtracks. I've missed (too) many though, either because I had no money or because I was not in a hurry. Also, back then I was a student with too much free time to browse Yahoo! Japan, but not anymore. I wish I had bought a lot more soundtracks!

Today, I would like to complete or at least expand my collection with the following titles. Most of them are not hard to find used, complete and in good condition, but factory sealed is a pain in the back. As such, I am prepared to pay a good extra on top of the "normal" price. If you have used copies, I may be interested too, just contact me!

For some of those, had you looked in 1999, would have proven either impossible to find or as valuable as a used car. Today, in 2014, I can't even wish you good luck; that would be foolish.

To be honest, the rarity of these aside, this isn't a real good time for the VGM market as a whole it seems.

Many collectors seem to be holding on (standing firm) on what they have and as has been discussed in the other thread the asking prices for some albums just seem to be be horribly skewed at the moment.

Compare this to back when I started collecting back in 2007 when sales threads seemed to be a dime a dozen. Damn, I miss that.

LuxKiller65 Jul 2, 2014

Sure, I'm no fool, I've also been buying/selling/trading for a couple of years now. Things have changed, some albums have gotten rarer, some other have gotten more expensive, but strangely enough from time to time I see albums on Yahoo! Japan going for cheaper than 5 or 6 years ago.

Maybe another reason why less stuff is up for sale/trade is because fewer people are interested in old game soundtracks?

But I am perfectly aware this could be a lifetime search. Good catches still happen though, like 3 years ago I found a sealed MIDI Power Pro 6 for 30$. The seal has a cut which goes through the spinecard but I was still very happy.

Best of luck man. The CastleVania ones are a pain to find at times. When I was trying to find 'em Rondo of Blood/Bloodlines was one of the hardest to locate and I'm a bit sad to admit I still don't have Order of Ecclesia and Harmony of Despair myself.

I did notice that otaku.com on VGMDB has

MIDI Power Pro 6: Akumajo Dracula X (KICA-7928)
MIDI Power X68000 Collection Ver. 2.0 (KICA-7611)
Akumajo Dracula Tribute Vol. 1 (LC-1957)
Akumajo Dracula Tribute Vol. 2 (LC-1958)

Not sure if they are used or what but personally I have purchased a fair amount of sealed CastleVania albums from Alex.

Good thing I am kind of over this album or I'd be out one-hundred and sixty bucks.

Ugh, Ecclesia is one of one of those albums that I REALLY want, but given the current prices that's probably never going to happen. >_<

You know, I should probably go on YouTube and listen to some of this one. The only track I'm familiar with is Sorrow's Distortion.

LuxKiller65 Nov 29, 2014

Funny you mention Power Pro 6, you can see it's just been struck off my list!

Order of Ecclesia was a bad forecast from Konami, intentional or not this I don't know. It was only ever available on konamistyle, sold very fast and was never reprinted. Add to this the fact that the music is pretty good and you got a winner.

Thanks for reminding me of otaku.com, I seldom check over there.

Pic won't show up, is it my problem?

Yeah the pics don't work for me either. Strangely enough the UK version of Otaku way outclasses the International one.

I found everything here. They have an account on VGMDB

Mhh how comes the prices went up on the 2 links I posted, right after I dropped him an email?

Ver.2 was at 30-something, now it's 58$??

Either way he said Ver.1 is out of stock, but thanks for the help smile

Won't anybody sell me a Dracula X Chronicles OST? big_smile

By the way I've got some stuff for trade here: castlevania.imgur.com

Hasn't the price on this one gone up quite a bit over the years? I found that kind of crazy since there are a few different prints.

Alley Dec 12, 2014

There is this posting of the Order of Ecclesia on ebay:

longhairmike May 6, 2015

LuxKiller65 May 12, 2015

Hi, sorry I didn't receive anything, there's no PM here, right?

Your prices are negotiable so I don't know if it's closer to 10$ or 10,000$, have you posted them on eBay yet?

Alley May 16, 2015

Luxkiller,

I sent you a PM by clicking on your username and sending you an email. I haven't posted the auctions yet as I was waiting to confirm a few sales.

Send me an email and we can go from there!

Thanks.

Seems like I'm done with all the recent Castlevania albums, although I'd like another copy of the silly 18-disc box thing. Shortly after its release, amazon.co.jp had it listed with a 50% discount, but I was still licking my wound after paying 200$ for it, so I didn't buy it.

It does seem to be still available pretty much everywhere. I think it didn't sell very well? Or maybe they were very optimistic and printed a lot of copies? I was not impressed with it, I would have preferred a smaller release with what is missing, such as Vampire's Kiss, Legends and Legacy of Darkness. Hell, why not even throw in music from the forgotten Commodore, PC and Amiga games.

LuxKiller65 wrote:

Legends

I thought the box contained Legends' music.

As for the box itself I find it equally attractive and unattractive. It has a lot of positives but it also has a lot of negatives. If the positives outweighed the negatives more I'd probably get a hold of one.

LuxKiller65 Jan 3, 2016

Yes you are right, what I meant was that a smaller release (say 2-4 discs) with music that has never been released before would have been a lot more exciting to me. Like a thick jewel case with a nice old-school artwork and an obi. I was really looking forward to something like this, not the box they made.

Not that I'm complaining, the box is great if you want an instant collection of Castlevania music, it just looks... I don't know, unnecessary and not "ultimate" at all.
