GameStop dropped the price of MadWorld to $30 this weekend, so I figured it was time to take the plunge.  I finished the first stage, and so far, I'm not terribly impressed.  It's neat that there are so many different ways to kill baddies, but I find little motivation to go through all that trouble, at least this early in the game.  Maybe it gets more interesting later on, but so far, I'd say it's just OK.

Spectacular mayhem! Over-the-top madness. Wanna play?

Join Jack, a renegade contestant, in the world's deadliest game show, Deathwatch. Only the bloodiest, most creative tactics will help help keep you alive in the ultimate fight for survival.

Visceral arcade-style gameplay. Fight your way out of impossible situations.
Hurl rivals into passing trains and trash cans. The environment is your arsenal.
Ultra-violent "Blood bath challenge" mini-games. Battle with a friend.

The game visual style is so good. The game enemies aren't aggressive enough, but it was always entertaining seeing all the different executions. I do wish they had set up the game system similar to Shadow of Rome. I think I stopped playing around the last stage. I wanted to play multi-player with my friend, but he had to leave before we could.

My brother in law got me this a few years ago... and I still haven't gotten around to it. I'm curious about the music since Naoto Tanaka was involved and I liked what Naoto did in the later era Mega Man X games.

The soundtrack keeps the mood upbeat. It was pretty divisive amongst my friends: one of them asked me if I could turn it off (once you turn off the music certain detractors of the game become very apparent; i.e., the running around time. "Do they even attack you" - my friend.) and my other friend liked it.

Tanaka's soundtrack for MadWorld is just simply excellent, one of my favorite soundtracks of last gen. And this is coming from someone who isn't a huge fan of rap/hiphop.

Agreed, the Mad World OST is great. Definitely the best part of the game.
