Have you heard of Hamauzu's new project: Imeruat?
Well there is a new album called Black Ocean and great news, I just heard it was at last available.

Wayo Records is a french label, but apparently they can ship worldwide, for a reasonable price (cheaper than importing from Japan^^)

I'd say that Hamauzu has made a way better job on this innovative CD than Kikuta on his new Seiken 2 arrange !

This is album is not that amazing. It's a bit above mediocre, but it has grown on me somewhat. I just heard them live in Osaka and that performance was fantastic. All the acoustic songs (without Mitsuto Suzuki and his electronic stuff) sounded super great, better than on the album. They also played some songs from a new anime, that Hamauzu composed. Those songs were absolutely fantastic. They ended the show with some FF XIII stuff, nice!

BTW, most of the band members (all of them?) worked together on FF XIII, either performing or arranging stuff together with Hamauzu. They look great together, Hamauzu on the grand piano, one guy with crazy percussions, Toru Tabei on classical/electric guitar, Mina singing and playing traditional Ainu instruments, a violinist rocker with an 80's hairstyle and Suzuki with his electronic stuff.

I'm a big Hamauzu fan but I didn't care much for this. I prefer his larger-scale work (and definitely without breathy vocalists).

I thought the 3 debut singles, "Imeruat," "Cirotto," and "Haru no Kasumi" were brilliant.

I dig ethereal vocal music.

I like this album a whole lot better than many of those instrumentalist & vocalist collaborations released in 2007, among which were Tindharia no Tane (Noriyuki Iwadare & Haruka Shimotsuki) and Kinema in the Hall (Yoshitaka Hirota & Rekka Katakiri).

Don't know of any Japanese shops that carry this album, but I ordered it easily from Wayo Records.

I understand French at a remedial level, but Google Chrome translates at least European languages pretty seamlessly, thankfully.
