I really like this piece, but I have a question about it.

As most know, the "Game Start" theme pretty much crosses throughout all the games (1~9 and Mega Man & Bass) but is the Mega Man 6 "Game Start" really a separate, completely new entity or is it so re-arranged from Manami Matsumae and Yoshihiro Sakaguchi's original that it's hard to tell?

The more I listen and think about it, it seems to be original though it's certain it takes influence from the mainstay jingle. This seems kind of appropriate since the Game Start Screen in Mega Man 6 is so different from those in the other games; no "star field" and presenting such info boss stats and stage names.

Additionally, this makes me think about Mega Man III's "Game Start" as well though it's nowhere as far off as Yuko Kadota's piece in 6.

So, are MM3's and MM6's "Game Start's" arrangements or originals?

MM5's is also unique, as are the GB ones (outside of MM3GB, strangely). Is MM6 by Kadota? All these years I thought the Yuko was Takehara.

No, you're right, it's Yuko Takehara / 竹原裕子. Have no idea why my tags say Kadota; looks like I have some fixing to do.

Yeah, I looked into five's more closely and it is different.

Yuko Kadota and Yuko Takehara are the same person: Kadota's her maiden name. She got married somewhere in the 1997-1998 area; at least, that's when her name changes in arcade credits.

You sure? She's credited as Takehara in the Goof Troop SNES game from back in '93.

EDIT: Strange, snesmusic credits Yuki Iwai for that. I'd have sworn it was Yuko. Oh well, disregard my confused state...comes with age.
