Holy crap! 11 discs is a lot for a VGM box. O_O

Well, there are a some exceptions like OutRun 2019 and OutRun Europa but I assume that's because Hiro didn't compose their respective soundtracks. I know he didn't do 2019... not sure about Europa. You'd figure that they would have EVERYTHING in this set for them to do an 11-disc blowout. It's got the OutRun2 Euro Remixes so I'm not complaining!

Ah yes indeed, also no sign of european versions of some soundtracks, like Turbo Out Run C64 for example, and Out Run Europa yes.

Yeah, it seems like a lot.  I'm not that familiar with Outrun music, but I see that some of those discs only have a small number of tracks.  Are the tracks really long or are these just going to be 11 short discs?

I'd say some discs will be filled (judging on existing soundtracks re-released in the box) and some won't, but i doubt it will fall under 50%.

Is there a seperate GAME Box and a seperate SOUND Box?

I'm not sure if this is the 11-CD box or not, because this comes with the PS2 gamesoft and with the Bonus DVD that'd make at least 13 peices of media total...

Yeah there are 2 releases:
- the collector edition of the game (containing the OSTs box)
- just the OSTs box

And the one you linked is the collector edition of the game.

this box is seriously freaking awesome. it's pricey but if you're a fan of outrun music AT ALL then please buy this! i want to encourage sega into making more box sets that are as epic.

i got just the box, from kahori. and the dvd came with it yes, although i haven't been able to watch it (curiously, although i've been able to play other region 2 dvds, this one will not play in any of my dvd players)

Now that's crazy.

I was expecting the "S.S.T. Band live" track to be one of the OutRun related tracks from the already released S.S.T. Band live DVD, but no it isn't! It's another live rendition of Magical Sound Shower!!!
And this one is far more funky, accurate and longer (lots of additional solos) compared to the Game Music Festival '91 one.
THE steel drums solo is even 100% accurate to the game tune!!! Amazing.
