What exactly do you mean by "book soundtracks?"  Do you mean these are books that come with actual soundtrack CDs or are these like the old Square guides that came with singles or something else?

Think Soulcalibur II-ish. Monster Hunter had a book, as well, and is probably more appropriate for comparison:

If that's the case, then I definitely want the Rockman EXE 5&6 one, though the price seems a little low for it to be a full OST.

Yeah, Monster Hunter and biohazard 4 were like this.  The book serves as one big liner note.  I own the biohazard 4 one, and each page has artwork and composer notes for each track, with the CDs at the back of the book, I like them.

I'll agree, having these nice huge artwork pages & details to accompany your listening sessions is rather nice.

For the previous Capcom book soundtracks, did CD Japan carry them or were they only at Amazon?

Godai Mar 8, 2006

Didn't see them at CDJ.

Those *Digicube* Book+OST albums were available at CDJ though (Soul Calibur II and Armored Core 3: Silent Line)...

So maybe Capcom decided to use a smaller distributor and/or local avenues for their book releases, depending on the stipulations of their normal CD distro agreement through Sony Music.

I'm pretty sure these albums are being sold as books and not CDs.  You're not going to find it on CD Japan since they don't sell books.  Amazon Japan is only place I know of that sells these.
