Fantastic. I love Earthbound series a lot. Even if no one else downloads it on the VC, I'll still be getting it, and hoping my 'vote' counts.

I'd be more interested if it was the Mother 1+2 release that was seen on the GBA. I already have Earthbound and my SNES still works fine.

Right below the article it mentions the Mother3 soundtracks on US iTunes. Anyone heard Mother 3i (the iPod-only one)? I really wish recieved a REAL release. Mother music shafted again.

I wish Family Guy would get canceled again already and Seth.M would crawl back into the hole he came out of. I can't even watch the original 49 "good" episodes without thinking how "bad" and "pathetic" the new ones are in comparision.

Aren't they making enough profit off rom dumps, er VC, and hardware sales already?  It's not like bringing this to NA would be some sort of multi-million dollar risk.  I think NOA has busted the Mother fanbase balls long enough.

Someone needs to tell him having a naked, obese cartoon character onscreen for over a minute at a time in every other episode is simply not funny. Nor is the old fucker's obsession with Chris...That was a running joke that pretty much missed the mark.

And I agree with Msia...There's no risk (there's apparently an English translation for the European version), so why not? I didn't get why Mother 1 and 2 never came over, considering how important Earthbound was to Smash Brother's settings.

I'm with Goldfish and Ashley on the Family Guy issue.  Every Sunday I get my hopes up thinking "maybe, just maybe this one will be better."  This is becoming the same reason I stopped watching the Simpsons in 2000.

What European version?

In an earlier discussion, people were referring to a European version (I remember XLord was) and importing. I guess that release got canned then...

There was once a rumor that it would come to Europe.  Obviously that never happened.  EGM also ran a rumor that NOA would release a Mother Trilogy for DS, but that one died as well.

Nintendo should release an Oracle collection on the DS.  I'm curious if Nintendo intends on letting their older portable games die.  Kinda odd considering it has the Virtual Console and all.

My bet is that there will be a DS2 system that will have its own "Virtual Portable" shop.  Downloadable games from GB, GBC, GBA, GG, NGPC, WSC and who knows what else.  Imagine that.

I broke down and imported it earlier this year. And, while it did help fill my vocabulary (yay for kana), I'm positive I would have enjoyed it more in instantly readable English. (So, like, I'll buy it again if given the chance)
