This is something I've wanted to see happen for a few years now, and I'm glad it finally is going to be.

Now I can finally replace my homemade VHS->DVD featuring my own custom menus made in Adobe Encore with a real product.

Maybe wishing a product into existance has some sort of effect afterall

What is on this DVD?  Recordings of shows they did?

Presumably, at the very least, it should combine the SST Band footage from these two VHS tapes:

SST Band Live! (PCVP-10405)
Game Music Festival Live '90 (PCVP-10406)

Then, hopefully, add in a few more performances, hense the inclusion of the word "History" in the Live History title.   Haven't seen any official details though.

Holy crap! This seems to be one hell of a dvd! Still almost three weeks to wait. Come already, 20th day...

remarkable!  i wonder how long this will be in print considering Back in the SST is still available.  while hardly in a current position to throw $70 at this, what choice is there with the risk of letting such glory pass by?

So, what is Back in the SST album supposed to be?

It's nothing more than a best-of compilation. A good one at that, though. Worth grabbing unless you a) have all band's old albums or b) aren't into their musical style.

70 is a hell of a lot cheaper than trying to buy those Nobuo DVD concerts, so I'll gladly take this price anyday of the week!! (plus easy availability at retail, instead of promo-only)

Plus, considering all the exclusive content which has never seen the light of day before, I honestly consider this to be a bargain.

I found it by the catalog number myself - just remember to omit "placeholder" zeros. Ie search for "SDDV-35" instead of "SDDV-00035".

OMG, the DVD arrived at my door now, and it's freaking awesome.

Everything I expected it to be, and in addition to the tracklisting above, there's another bonus "Backstage" segment with various clips at other small clubs and photo shoots and dressing rooms.

yes, this is so worth it.  even though my "region-free" dvd player would not play it, the ps2 does, and it rocks asses to the xtreme.

Quite a shame that the audio-quality is so poor for the "GAME MUSIC FESTIVAL '91 July 30th/31st (Nakano-san Plaza)" events.
But better than nothing of course.

It seems to be a different montage for the "GAME MUSIC FESTIVAL '90 SPECIAL" event by the way, compared to the previous VHS release of the show.

i just got it today (finally) and it totally rules. it's one of the coolest things an sst fan can get their hands on.

also, did anyone else skip back and forth like five times trying to find the shining & the darkness arrange?
