lol police report lol.

"I present to the court as evidence post number 28 by Adam Laatz, aka Alucard83".

lololololol

Not my rules, the bank's rules.  Email and IP addresses associated with a username are plenty to legally-identify somebody.  If you're done being useless, get lost.  This matter is not going to progress unless Adam someday decides to respond.  Nobody else has any business posting in this thread.

You misinterpreted his post and were quick to jump to a decision to buy it.  Your fault, 100%, you got exactly what he described.  It's funny how serious you're trying to be because you're not going to get your money back. smile

raynebc Apr 6, 2006

Whether or not I misinterpreted the description, it was because he wrote it in a way that allowed it to be misinterpreted.  If Adam is as consciencious as people here say he is, then he will be reasonable and allow me to ship it back for a refund, minus the paid shipping cost.  That is quite clearly all there is to discuss.  You have nothing to do with this thread, please stop junking it up.

I can't imagine what you would've done if you had bought one of those homemade (=fakes) limited editions a guy is selling on eBay... call the FBI or something?

Dude, if you didn't want other people to join in on this thread, it shouldn't have been made in the first place.  Private messages and email are available for this reason.

And like everyone else already said, if you genuinely thought that his FFVII OST was the book-style version, you were nuts.  Sell it to a friend or something - it's a great album!

I know what the authentic soundtrack looks like and wouldn't fall for that.  I own over half a thousand imported CDs, so I think it's fair to say I'm pretty well experienced, save for this FF7 Limited Edition since the information on it is somewhat LIMITED given that it's pretty rare.  I don't buy on ebay because ebay is an irresponsable money-monger, not interested in anything but looking out for its own earnings.

As I pointed out before, I had no other way to reach Adam.  And up to now, I have not found a private messaging system on this forum.  So unless you actually know if it exists and where the feature is, please don't make it up.  This thread was made to catch Adam's attention in the off chance he was still frequenting this forum, because posting in his thread didn't produce any results.  And for the record I know this is a good soundtrack, I now have two of the First Press editions.  So unless anybody else has more unconstructive griping to make, I'll wait for Adam to contact me.

500 imported CDs?!  Enormous collection...
Anyway, I do have to agree with you on ebay!

No one is making it up, you can certainly send someone a private email.  Go to a thread, any thread where the person you're interested in has posted.  Notice how the person's screenname is highlighted in blue (on the top left corner).  Click on it.  You'll go to a window, and there should be an option to send that person an email.

That's an HTML form to send somebody an email, it's not really a private message, it comes up for people who set their profile up to hide their email address instead of just displaying it.  Oh well...  Having a private message system would probably increase the processing and storage load of this forum quite a bit.

Beforehand, I hadn't realized it was that much more valuable than the Limited Edition FF8 OST.  So short answer, yes, that's what I thought it was, I thought the FF7 OST I had was a completely normal release and that this would be considerably different from what I had.  I don't care to hear people keep ranting "l0l! j00 5h0uld h4v3 kn0wn 83773r!", so unless somebody can help me get ahold of Adam so I can return the soundtrack, there's no point shooting the dead horse.

If you didn't know it was so rare, ever think he might not have known it existed at ALL?

He seems to be a regular VGM seller, so he probably should have known more about it than me, especially since so many other people here are aware of it.  Either way, labeling it "Limited" was the mistake that fooled me.

Don't you think you're sort of exaggerating? I've just bought a game for 35 US$ advertised as new, and what I got is a totally damaged box with a huge price sticker on the back... and I never thought of calling the police or something. Also, I had paid an item to a guy, and then had to wait 3 weeks before hearing back from him... I understand you being rageous if it had been a fake or if you had paid 100US$, but I think you can really sell it and get at least your money + shipping back or just wait as I did and eventually he'll talk to you.

I'm afraid we take things too seriously sometimes...

If I bought something described as "new" and I got a damaged product, and the seller wouldn't allow a refund or wouldn't respond, I WOULD get the cops involved, and you should too, because the seller obviously intended to take advantage of you instead of just a misunderstanding.  As for your suggestion, I already stated I will wait for contact.  Otherwise I may end up giving it to my friend as a present, he likes FF7 music.
