I've been eagerly anticipating this one, and it allegedly came out last week, but NONE of the online retailers I know of seem to even acknowledge the thing's existence.  I would've thought for sure vgmworld would have it, but I don't know what's going on over there right now (please be okay, Kahori! hmm ).  Has anyone heard it yet?  Any opinions?  Any ideas where the heck I can GET one?

Well, this is distributed by SuperSweep, so CDJapan or PlayAsia doesn't stock it. You can purchase it via Amazon.co.jp, I think.

The stars of the soundtrack are actually newer Basiscape composers (Kamikura, Kudo and Chiba), for me. But Iwata's two tracks in the second disc are also quite good (I'm still not sure if they were composed by Iwata... though).

I got mine from Amazon.co.jp, I got it on release just like everything else.  I did preorder it months ago though.  Could just be high demand or low print volume + holiday season?

Is there another way to get this? Never ordered from Amazon JP, and not sure how "easy" that is...

Ordering from Amazon Japan is just as easy as ordering from Amazon.com.  Pages on AJ will have a display in English button, and that will help you in ordering, plus all the pages after that to fill in your billing/shipping info are all in English too.  As long as you can navigate to the page your item you want is on, you can order it.  (although there are certain things that Amazon Japan won't ship outside of the country, but soundtracks are a definite yes).

Thanks for the advice, all.  Somehow I didn't realize that you can just order CDs from amazon.co.jp and have them sent to the U.S..

shipping tends to be horribly expensive tho using Amazon Japan because they only use the fastest shipping available (EMS or whatever it's called that they use), so I'd avoid just ordering 1 CD and shipping it.  Wait till you have a bulk order and then get er done.

What sucks is that they USED to have 'standard' shipping. I used to order from them all the time.

Any idea about the affiliates for Amazon Japan? I use the ones on US Amazon all the time (and sometimes the ones for UK Amazon). Do they tend to ship outside the US?

Any experiences with any of them?

I had this in my cart at amazon.co.jp and had to cancel the order. They wanted $22 for shipping! I'm cool with the $40 album price, but I'm not going to let them think their shipping charges are acceptable.

It's a crapshoot. I've had some luck in the past but for the most part they'll only ship domestically. If you add the items to your cart and begin the checkout process, Amazon will tell you whether the items can be shipped to your address. I gave it a try and in this case none of the other sellers will ship outside of Japan.

I mentioned it elsewhere, but HMV are also carrying the soundtrack: http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/product/detail/3709124

Last I remember, they charge 1200 yen for EMS.

Thanks! I had seen some good used deals and was wondering if the sellers had the same fear of shipping overseas that Yahoo Japan Auctions do...Xp

Where IS the "Display in English" button?

EDIT: Silly me, I'm just blind...it's in text just above the "Add to Shopping Cart" button.

Thanks for the info, yo! You just opened a can of whoop-ass for me!
