2 Odin questions: 1) There is no Odin Sphere soundtrack out at the moment, is that correct?  I googled and found no such thing.  2) Was Sakimoto Hitoshi the sole composer?

Thank you!

1) Nope, none available although I've heard rumors that one may come out. Just rumors though.

2) No. I think Iwata worked on it as well (and perhaps a few others).

Masaharu Iwata (confirmed to compose a Ragnanival theme) Mitsuhiro Kaneda (confirmed to compose one creepy boss theme), Kimihiro Abe (the guy I suspect composes that dreadful Ringford action theme), Manabu Namiki (only 1 track, maybe the calm Ringford theme) are involved as well.

Thank you Wanderer and Cedille!

I'm listening to the game rip atm and liking what seems to be the theme song.  Since there's no soundtrack release and thus no liner notes/credits and track names, I assume this is a pointless question but I'll try nonetheless:  anyone know if the song that seems to be the theme song has a name and who the composer is with certainty (I can only assume it's Sakimoto)?  Thanks.

Interestingly enough someone on GMR has posted an actual release for the OST. Can anyone confirm this?

There are two songs in the game. If you mean the ending theme song, that's called Odin Sphere's Theme -Shanachie ver- and an arrangement offered by a Celtic band in Japan (but strictly speaking, the composer is still Sakimoto). Aside of that, there is no info on them.

If you want to follow VGM news, I recommend you visit GMRonline regularly, so as to find such. What is written there is not always reliable, correct and complete, though (like my studio musicians info on Trusty Bell that has been quoted here and there tongue).

Not sure if it's the ending theme, though it seems it may be--it's near the end of the game rip (second to last track) and sounds live.  Would Shanachie be the name of the Celtic band?

I already have that site bookmarked.  Too bad they don't have the tracklist for Odin though.

Thanks.

I don't know where you downloaded the rip and I don't have a distributed rip myself (I have my own extracted one), but if it's a fiddle-dominated piece of music, then it's Nami Uehara's arranged version. Yeah, Shanachie is a Celtic band.

Well, if PV posts something, it's legit.

Anyways, can't wait for this, hopefully it has more than one or two Sakimoto-tunes.

I've noted 2 versions (so far) with the fiddle: one is 7min, another is 5:36min.  What's the running time on the one you're speaking of?

So Uehara arranged and Shanachie is the band playing her arrangement?

What you think two different tracks are one and almost the same. One is a 5:36 track which is introduced with a vocal in Japanese, then executed by fiddle, recoder and some percussions. The other has, beside that, an extra French vocal section with orchestral accompaniment which is also called as "Odin Sphere Main theme". IIRC, the latter is the staff credit theme.

Despite no official info,"Odin Sphere Main theme" is definitely composed by Sakimoto, but its Celtic version is arranged by Nami Uehara and played by her band, Shanachie.
