I really didn't think this game was selling that well to get all these ports. I haven't played any of em.

Nice. Maybe more people will give a shit this time around. I'm constantly amazed at how lackluster the reception for that game was.

I dunno, nowadays people can't seem to shut up about this game.
It's one of those games that didn't sell that well but has a very vocal fanbase, I have the impression.

Okami is just a beautiful game. Strong story, strong gameplay, strong music - combined with the ink-wash-painting style it's pure art.

In any event, this is good news for those who can't find a copy on PS2 or Wii. I wholly endorse this game. It's one of my favorites.

Amazon.com currently lists 51 "used & new" copies in the marketplace (PS2. NTSC). Hard to believe to not find a copy.

I am one of the lame people who never got to play this game yet I always wanted to. I'm glad it's getting a re-release smile
I might even finally invest in a move controller for this!

I'll probably be crucified for this here due to the internet love affair with the game, but I always felt that Okami was the textbook example of style over substance.  It is a GORGEOUS game with an awesome soundtrack and a feel that nothing else has ever captured, BUT as a game I feel it's pretty uninspired.  It also exhibits the annoying things in recent Zelda games that people complain about all the time to an even worse degree (hand-holding, people taaaaaaaaalking forrreeeeeeeeeeever to explain eeeeeeeeverything).  I also thought that the best part of the game and what should have been the climax was at about the 2/3 mark.  Everything past that felt tacked on and boring and repetitive.

All that being said, if you've never played this game and like the Zelda-ish action adventure concept, check it out.  Your mileage may vary.  I just ended up being disappointed (though I had way high expectations after playing the awesome demo from whatever Tokyo Game Show that was before it came out).

*high-five*

I would have liked Okami exponentially more than I do if the game didn't amplify all of the things I don't like about Zelda games; the hand-holding, the annoying sidekick that never shuts up, too much unnecessary banter and meaning dialog, etc. Less is more in games like this, and unfortunately I gave up on Okami after about 10 hours because I got tired of telling the game to shut the hell up and let me play.

You naysayers can say whatever you want, but Okami was beautiful. Was it flawed in many ways? Sure it was. I don't disagree with anything you said about the game design, and I'd even go farther and criticize the obnoxious battle system and repetitive boss usage (Capcom Trademark), but I absolutely adored the charming narrative, world, characters, art, and music. Those things taken together overcome the game design issues and make the whole thing worthwhile in my book.

I'd buy it if they ported it to Xbox 360.  Until then, I can always play the PS2 or Wii version, although I find it plays nicer on the playstation controller.
