So, did anyone else pick this up last night?  ...or was everyone too busy trying out the Devil May Cry 4 demo?

Well, I got both and PJM is a pretty fun game, but alot of trial and error.  2 player looks promising, especially if the Mrs. can go around collecting coins while I concentrate on building towers and whatnot.  A fun, charming game overall.

Without a demo, and a lacking interest to find a good write-up about it anywhere, I didn't bother with it.

It's basically a tower defense title.  You set up different types of towers (anti-air, arrow, cannons) to protect your base from all different types of creatures.  It's quite simple to pick up and very hard to master.

The wife is now hooked.  We'll play co-op for at least 2 hours before bedtime and she's getting better and better.  Best 8 bucks I could've spent.

*edit*  We've now finished co-op mode, which is INFINITELY easier than trying to do it by yourself.  Again, a great little game for 8 bucks and totally worth the purchase.  Now we're going through and trying to beat each level by ourselves.

There's a review up in case anyone was on the fence about spending 8 bucks.

tl;dr

They gave it an 8.0, which is probably what I'd give it.  It was over too quickly, but what was there was fantastic.

WISE FWOM YOW GWAVE

I had some extra GS credit and had been debating on whether or not to get a psp go or one of the older models.  The option to hook up your psp to your TV through the cradle and then sync it with a PS3 controller was mighty tempting, but in the end I picked up a psp slim, 8 GB memory card and slick case for the system.  Also grabbed a $20 PSN network card so I could pick up PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.  I showed the system and PJM to my wife and haven't seen it since!

Apparently (because I haven't gotten to play it yet) there's a new island and new towers.  She says it's quite fun!  Anyone who likes the tower defense-type gameplay should definitely get this one.

PJM was the first tower defense game I ever played, and I really liked it back when I first tried it, but I think it's a bit overrated (why must character walk so slowly and why do you have to manually pick up all the item drops?).  I think Ninjatown on DS is probably the most fun I've had with a tower defense title, but Plants vs. Zombies and FFCC: My Life as a Dark Lord are pretty cool too.
