Congrats to the guys who finally got this done.  It was certainly a dedicated two years in the making.

Now more folks can at last experience the adventures of Mel Gibson and Danny Glover!

hehe...I was just reading that...all along, I thought it was a continuation of Snatcher...that's ok though, i know the music's good...time to dust off my modded PS2 and a memory card...just a new copy of the game from NCSX for $35

i'm already 3 hours in.

game of the year!

SonicPanda Aug 24, 2009

Just ordered a copy online to patch and rip to my auxiliary PSP. I've wanted to play this for 13 years since Nick Rox and Takuhi made it sound completely wonderful in GameFan's era.
Should I assume dialogue is subbed instead of dubbed?

it's subbed.

Shit, yeah. Sonic Panda wins STC forever.

This is fantastic news.

I gave it a run last night and am having some fun, definitely snatcher pt 2.  It really reminds me of a classic PC game (Space Quest meets Willey Beemish?)  I don't know if that would be considered a compliment or not, lol, but it's pretty cool so far.  Story, and sci fi elements (DNA therapy, offworld colonies, synthetic blood)...

I can see why this may never have beenr translated...Just a ton of dialogue.  Going to play through...Nice to see 'Tappy' and 'Motoaki Furukawa' as the music composers (Pro-Fusion alum)...

beat it a while ago. i wasn't blown away, but it was a damn fine experience with high production values. i do enjoy playing adventures like snatcher/policenauts with competent writing and wish to see many more like these, just with more gameplay. maybe similar to the ace attorney games, which is a very fine dose of text & gameplay. i don't understand why nobody tries to do similar games these days.

I definitely agree...I'm just glad I got to play it and understood what was going on.  Great story / concept, even though Hideo is a little too obvious with his influences. (Same thoughts with Snatcher).  Also, Snatcher was a little more difficult being not nearly as linear.

I really dug the space exploration theme and the limits on the human body (solar radiation, 'loneliness', genetic drug therapy).  I think the english translation wasn't word for word, but I guess that's a given. (I'm not very versed with Japanese, though I would love to learn if I didn't have to put that much effort into it...lol (getting old over here)

Was anyone else cracking up at the drawing 'Marc' did of Ed?  Sorry, that one got me.  Now I want to play through all the MG's, I missed all those.
