Does anyone know if those are the original Famicom version of the songs, or are they the ones that have the extra channel of sound? It's been on my wish list for a while, but I don't want to actively seek it out unless it is the original versions - I'm not really a fan of the additional sound channel.

EDIT: I know the VGMdb page says the product represented is the "Nintendo Famicom Disk System", but I wanted some verification from someone who has (or has heard) the CD.

The rule of thumb for this CD is "when sound effects weren't needed, it uses the extra sound channel for the music." The tracks that matter -- the stage themes -- sound identical to the NES version, if that's what you're looking for. If you listen to the gameplay track that comes with the CD, Samus's beam sounds all funky-like. I'm assuming that's where the extra sound channel went.

Another important difference is that the escape BGM has a little extra melody that's not in the Japanese version, so thus it's absent here.
