I'm not usually one to pimp out projects and the like, but this one caught my eye a while back and still needs some help. It's a little hard to describe, but fans of the survival / horror genre should definitely check it out! It's a very ambitious project with a lot of talented people involved. Here's a very brief summary from the project page:

"You receive a desperate phone call from Hope, a young woman trapped within a shadowy totalitarian state. Using a stolen phone, she calls and begs you to hack into the nation’s surveillance system, assume control, and help her escape from the clutches of the omnipresent Overseer."

"Developed by industry veterans behind AAA games like Metal Gear Solid, Halo, F.E.A.R., Kinect, and cutting edge videos like the Skyrim television spot and the iconic iPod “silhouette” ads, République represents a strategic alliance between Camouflaj and Logan to make an epic action game designed specifically for touch-based devices."

Don't let the "touch-based devices" scare you off either! Although the game is being made with iPhones and what-not in mind, it will be released on PC and Mac computers as well. It's a really fascinating project and I'd love to see it succeed. Check it out if you have a chance! big_smile

Holy crap, they did it! Somehow they raised over $30,000 in one day. Happy endings. smile

Indeed! big_smile My bank account is frowning at me right now, but I'm glad I was able to contribute. Can't wait to see how this project develops!

Just like to point that I posted about this before it was cool. wink

I gave them $10. I see that Kickstarter doesn't waste any time with the funding since I was charged only 10 min. after it closed.

Good for you! Somehow I totally missed that topic. Nice to know that people noticed the project though. It's always sad to see good ideas go unnoticed.
