I kinda liked Apocolypse, I'm just hoping there's no kung-fu fighting this time around

I'm not going to sit here and bash the movies but I have to wonder why my friend wouldn't stop talking about the RE movies all day today... I rather play the games, especially RE2

As Ashely said, the games are great, the movies... no.
I only saw the first RE, and I heard the second is far worse than the first, which is saying a lot. However, I do like the actors in Extinction (Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr) but still I think it'll be a bad film. Although, you never know, maybe it'll be a pleasant surprise, or perhaps it will at least be a fun flick

How about none of the above?  I don't think it will flop (both movies so far have done well), but I don't think it'll be at all good.  The second one was dreadful, though the first had its moments.
