Uh. What?

Amazingu Apr 11, 2009

This is really the dumbest idea ever.

I read somewhere that the director from the new craptastic Chun-Li movie is the one who's gonna direct SoTC.  Making one horrible game movie is enough, how do these people still even keep their jobs and get more gigs??

edit: oh I guess it's the scriptwriter, which is even more flabbergasting.  Games already have scripts and stories, yet they insist on pulling new scripts out of everything else OTHER than the game.

Sonic Panda at one point said something to the effect that Hollywood is intentionally making shitty game adaptations on purpose to keep the medium in it's place. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be true.

This really makes me so sad.  F--- hollywood.

I'm trying to think of the best video game movie I've seen - "best" being a relative term here meaning "best out of a category with already low standards."

Hmmm...

Odd as it may seem I'd probably have to go with the Doom movie. There really isn't much of a story to adhere to so it kind of gets away with a lot more than other movies can. However, I thought the one reference to the original story near the end was well played.

My sister liked the Silent Hill movie but I've heard if you've played the games you'll end up hating it.

Sounds interesting enough, and I will watch it for sure, maybe even pay the money to check it on theater, if they even manage to finish that film.

I'm a big fan of the games, but I still rather enjoyed the SH movie.
It could have been much worse.

Also, the Doom movie wasn't THAT bad either.
At least it was poking fun at itself enough.
I'd definitely say that those two are my favorite game movies, yeah.

I understand there is going to be a film adaptation of Bioshock. I actually believe this could be done well. Furthermore, I believe they actually have talent behind the film, which is a good omen. This might turn out to be the best game-to-movie ever... which I realize is not saying much.

cheers,

Not yet bro, but I shall... at some point smile
Right now I'm taking a class, and I tend not to play any games while classes are going. I have a break coming up next week, so if I'm not too busy with research and everything I might be able to finish Rapture. Definitely worth the visit!

cheers,
