for fans of Tim Schafer(Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck's Revenge, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts), metal music(108 tracks from likes of Megadeth, Motorhead, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Testament, etc...), Jack Black (Tenacious D, School of Rock), adventure games, mixed with other genres - this is a must have no doubt.

love the ad, Jack Black as Eddie Riggs and Tim Schafer:

who's excited for this epic adventure?

We'll see. I really loved Psychonauts, but I'm not the biggest fan of metal music or culture.

Still, Tim Schaffer . . . .

I was watching TV the other day and saw a commercial for Brutal Legend immediately followed by one for Year One. Methinks Jack Black is getting a little overexposed.

I'm not interested in metal, either, but I also had no interest in biker culture and yet I loved Full Throttle. Now that I think about it, Brutal Legend is probably the closest we'll ever come to a Full Throttle 2.

Unfortunately, I never got to experience Psychonauts, what with it not having been localized in Japan, and not available for the Japanese region in any other way, nor have I played any of his old adventures, so the name Tim Schaffer doesn't actually mean all that much to me.

Going by trailers alone, Brutal Legend looks totally uninteresting as far as I'm concerned which is admittedly partially because I despise Jack Black as well.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm excited, but I did play the demo tonight, and the game plays very well and seems like it'd be a lot of fun.  Maybe I'll pick it up when it gets cheap.

you're part of the problem, same thing happened with psychonauts - critics loved it but nobody bought it.

Tell you what.  If you send me $60, I'll buy it tomorrow, just for you.  I'll even go out for the tax myself.

the idea is to buy it for yourself not for someone,
sleep on it, read couple of reviews and then decide.

I think what he meant was that if you give him the money, he will be buying it for himself, but doing YOU a favor with it.

I know what he meant, but it was pretty ridiculous so I've decided not to answer directly and let him redeem himself ^_~

Well, I read some more reviews, and I'm glad that I didn't buy it.  Seems the demo is deceiving in that no part of it mentions that the majority of the actual game is an RTS of sorts.  I thought this was supposed to be an adventure game.  No thanks.
