Let's get this thing going!  Each person is allowed one vote for the game of their choice.  If you'd rather not participate this round, that's okay too smile

*As of 7:43 8/7*

5 - Resident Evil 4 (PS2/Gamecube/Wii) (Angela, Raziel, Ashley, Wanderer, Amazingu)
0 - Klonoa 2 (PS2)
1 - The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (GBA) (Pellasos)
4 - Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) (Herrkotowski, rein, Adoru, Razakin)
1 - Ico (PS2) (ME sad)
2 - Psychonauts (PS2/Xbox/PC) (SonicPanda, Qui-Gon Joe)

I don't see any problems with RE4 if people play the different versions.  There's just extra bonus content on the Wii and PS2, correct?

To kick things off properly, I'm putting in my vote for Ico.  This one should be a two-weeker if that.  I've never finished the game and would like a chance to openly discuss it's impact.  I'll have the tallies counted up by Saturday morning, giving people (hopefully) enough time to go get the game.  If anyone is having trouble coming up with a copy of Ico, I have an extra copy that I can lend out for the time being.

*Ahem* This round's winner is Resident Evil 4 (but only just).  Alright everyone, go out and get a copy for your system of choice.  We'll begin gaming on Monday.  (My copy is coming in from Goozex and will be in some time next week).  GameStop has new copies for the PS2 at $9.99 (check the store locator for your closest match), a used GameCube copy at $14.99 and new copies for the Wii at $19.99.  From what I hear, the Wii offers the most content.

Start fresh.  CAG has an estimated completion time of 15-23 hours and a quick glance at a walkthrough lists the following chapters:

How does making it to chapter 3 sound for everyone?  I know there's several people here who have played it before and will probably breeze through it, but remember that this will be a brand new experience for others.  So for starters, let's play a little conservatively, eh?

Herrkotowski Aug 6, 2009

I vote for Shadow of the Colossus. It's about time I replayed this game.

rein Aug 6, 2009

I vote for Shadow of the Colossus.  I've had this game for a while, and this is the motivation that I need to play it.

Adoru Aug 6, 2009

I also vote for Shadow of the Colossus big_smile

Razakin Aug 6, 2009

I'll vote for SotC also, though, still unsure if I can participate. But if I can, good reason to replay this gem. :P

Angela Aug 6, 2009 (edited Aug 6, 2009)

I vote Resident Evil 4.  Them Ganados, they's just rootin' for a shootin'!

Raziel Aug 6, 2009 (edited Aug 6, 2009)

Biohazard 4!

smile

Pellasos Aug 6, 2009

The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (GBA)

Ashley Winchester Aug 6, 2009

Re4

Wanderer Aug 6, 2009

Resident Evil 4. wink

allyourbaseare Aug 6, 2009 (edited Aug 6, 2009)

RE4 and SoTC are tied, and we're still waiting for the following people to vote:

Amazingu
Qui-Gon Joe
SonicPanda

'course, they could all vote for Minish Cap or Ico and then we'd be in a real conundrum!  If SotC or RE4 get 6 votes, it's an automatic win.

This is really exciting you guys!  Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and willingness to participate!

...anyone seen Zane lately?

Amazingu Aug 6, 2009

Let's untie that tie for the moment: RE4.

Also: in case of RE4 (and also SotC amongst others) you can carry over stats/weaponry etc. to a new game.
Should we make some kind of rule to start a new game "properly" without using any bonuses?

If you've played it and have bonuses I say play w/them if you want - it wouldn't make me cry foul. Those of us who haven't played the game before are obviously going to take longer to clear it regardless.

I dunno.  I say we should start fresh; that way, everyone is on some semblance of equal footing, which makes for more clearly defined like-minded discussion.

If we do end up with RE4, I'll be doing a New Game on Normal mode.

My sentiments exactly.

Well, I guess there's no harm in leaving it up to personal preference of course.

SonicPanda Aug 7, 2009

Not to be That Guy Who Votes His Own Pick, but that goose egg next to Psychonauts is a bummer.
If we wind up going down Mexico way, obviously I'll be starting fresh (as it would be my first time), but if SotC wins out I'll probably try Hard Mode for its readjusted glyph points.

Qui-Gon Joe Aug 7, 2009

As I said before, Psychonauts is the only game on the list that's actually in my backlog, and I don't really have time to be replaying games I've played before, so put one vote (that will accomplish nothing) up for that game and I don't care if you guys play RE4 OR Shadow of the Colossus... I've played both recently enough that I'll participate in the discussion, but I just can't start either again right now.

I would love to play Psychonauts what with all the good things I've been hearing about it, but it was never released in Japan.
On top of that, the release on XBL is region-locked, so I can't even download it in Japan either sad

So, when do we start the game proper?  Will you be making a new thread for its discussion?

Uh, in what amount of time?
On monday alone? Cos you won't get to chapter 3 THAT fast...
Or do you mean 1-3?

I meant by the following Monday.  Sorry.

Raziel Aug 7, 2009

Does everyone play on the same difficulty level, or can we choose as we please?

That's up to your discretion.

Wanderer Aug 7, 2009 (edited Aug 7, 2009)

*makes a mental note to borrow the Wii version from his friend*

I've never even made it to Chapter 3! I didn't know the game was this long! yikes
