Do we really need to give this another stab?

I really have a hard time picturing Edward Norton as the Hulk. I loved him in Fight Club and Red Dragon but the Hulk? Just don't work in my mind.

Well, I'm a sucker for Marvel films, so I'll be seeing it.  It's a reboot of the franchise, so luckily I don't have to relive the first shot at it.

It's a shame too.  I like the Hulk (well, Peter David's first run on the character).

I'm a sucker for Marvel films as well but I know to draw the line where not to bother (Daredevil, Electra) and this one is borderline.

My expectations for the new Hulk started sinking once Marvel started talking all this "less thinking, more action" reboot nonsense when they started development.  The first Hulk was a perfectly fine movie until late in the third act.  Yes Bana's acting was a little dry but the essential element of suppressed rage was captured, a couple of the fight scenes were good (the hulk-dog fight was brutal and the tank showdown in the desert was vintage Hulk), the editing was gimmicky but unique, and Jennifer Connelly is always a joy to look at smile

It was only in the last quarter of the movie, when they went overboard with the comic book action (particularly the forced and absurd "final boss showdown"), that the movie went to crap.  And now this new movie promises basically more of what we got in that crappy last quarter - more action and a mean new boss to fight.  It doesn't help that the fake-looking CG - the other major problem in the first movie - doesn't seem to have been improved significantly.

And yeah I also have a problem seeing Edward Norton as Bruce Banner.

I'm still eagerly awaiting Iron Man's Japanese release and have high hopes for Wolverine next year, but unless I'm just in need of an excuse to go to the theater may well give the new Hulk a pass.
