You know how when you're disturbed right at the moment that you're about to drift to sleep and you come to the sickening realization that the window of sleep has slammed shut and won't reopen for hours and the timing is really bad because you had gone to bed early to try to recover from some mischievous gastrointestinal malady?  Awesome.

To quote the ending from Ghosts 'n Goblins: "Return to starting point. Challenge again!"

eBay: where everything is RARE!

Have been looking for some PS1 games and I mean really, how can you tire of seeing "RARE!" written on games that are going for next to nothing.

If I crap in a box and label it "rare" does that make is so?

new for today:

if someone chokes to death on chick peas, is it ruled Hummuscide?

If someone admiring a babe with a big booty while driving crashes their car and dies, is that "auto ass-fixation"?

*sorry if you did this one already, mike smile

I've had a strange, persistent sensation over the past few days that my left leg is longer than my right leg.  A cursory Google self-diagnosis suggests that this may be a symptom of hip arthritis.  If I have hip arthritis at the age of 29.98, should I then expect to be a fleshy bag of disarticulated bones by the age of 40?

Castlevania II ~ Simon's Quest

Simon Belmont walks into an abandoned mansion to procure one of the scattered parts of Dracula's body.

He meets a suspicious robed stranger.

Stranger: "Would you like to invest in an oak stake?"

Simon: "I don't know...how much do you expect it to appreciate annually?"

When you put it like that, doesn't sound to smart, does it?

Kind of sounds like the Castlevania equivalent of a "man walks into a bar" joke.

So I've finally come to terms with several ordeals...

1st is cutting down my definite remaining VGM collection to 25.

3 Original albums.

3 Western OSTs.

5 Arranged albums.

14 Japanese OSTs.

And I'm about to cut down my Spider collection to 1.

The Mexican Fireleg is the definite keeper. Great colors, mild temperament, always out on display and eats like a champ. Did I mention it's been recently sexed as female and may live over 25 years ? Go Fireleg !!

this is my attempt at doing a round of Dimitri Martin's "good, bad, interesting" skit.

getting a quick sandwich...
Good: the corner deli
Bad: the coroner/deli
interesting: at an orgy

Holy crap dude, I just had three girls hit on me...

"I've been waiting for a good looking guy like you!"

"I'd like to get to know you better!"

"Wait for me by the river bank until midnight."

Well, you know how the Castlevania II manual says beware of liars in the towns, right? big_smile

P.S.

Hearts cap at 256. What a random number...and I don't know how long I bounced around, right-to-left-and-back, defeating foes, before I figured this out...

Also, aside from the Holy Water, it seems like the other sub-weapons expend Hearts...which, wouldn't be so strange, especially considering the other Castlevania games, if Hearts weren't used as currency in this game...

Well, in the original Legend of Zelda, Rupees WERE expended as ammo for your bow and arrow...heh, imagine that, shooting Rupees from a bow and arrow!

"Eat my purchasing power, you swarms of the undead!"

Someone more tech-savvy than me can probably explain that to you, but the number 255 (and often 254 and 256 as well) pop up in games quite frequently as the maximum of any kind of stat, especially in older games.

I think it has something to do with bits and bytes and the numbers you can express with them, but I don't know squat about programming, so I'll stop before I say anything really stupid.
