So there's been topics about the arrange album and the OST, but I haven't heard anything about this yet. And being that the OST (both parts) was solid and the arrange album great ("Junk Modulation + One Error Begets Another" is epic btw) I'm interested in getting this but question if there is enough variety to warrant the purchase of another VP2 CD. Any comments?

You missed the "Live" part in the title. I guess whether people like this one depends on how they liked the Sakuraba Live 2003 CD since it's using the same setup (three people playing keyboards, bass and drums). Due to that setup (and the acoustic sound of the OST) it has the most different feel from all VP2 arrange CDs imo.

So, it's like the first concert?  I've been holding out till I could hear some samples because I've heard that the second VP was dreadful.  I'm playing through the game now.  It's not bad, but not amazing either.

I've listened through once so far on my purchase, and it does sound very similar to his previous live cd.   

What stood out initially is the cool piano solo on 'Requiem to a Predicament' .   

Although I can't offer any comparisons whatsoever to any other VP2 cds, as I've been putting off listening to all those...

Depends on how much you value and appreciate live performance, I guess. Is it all music you've heard performed before save for four new VP2 tracks? Essentially, yeah. Are they the same performances you've heard before? Nope.

hee,  nevermind.  I just placed a huge order on amazon.co.jp and that was one of the CDs.
I'll post impressions here after I give it a listen (should be next week sometime)

Here's my deal: I am in love with the first Sakuraba concert CD/DVD. I'm talking flesh-to-disc soulmate material right here. I'm very tempted to pick up the Live 2006 disc, but I'm afraid that I'll be disappointed... basically I'm just waiting for someone's detailed impressions and/or review of the disc so I can figure out if I should drop the cash on the album or if I should just continue to wear grooves into my Sakuraba Live CDs.
