First the announcement of Phantasy Star Universe for it - I don't like gaming on my computer and the PS2 version looked horrible on that aging hardware next to the PC version at last year's Tokyo Game Show, so it's quite good news to see the game going onto a next gen console system.

And then there's Hudson's announcement of DUNGEON EXPLORER 360 - a franchise I thought was long dead.  DE2 for the Turbo Duo is one of the most fun multiplayer games I've ever played.  Hopefully its inevitable move into 3D won't hurt it too terribly much.  For those who aren't familiar with the series - imagine Gauntlet, except good.  Better level design, no draining health while you walk, and surprisingly developed rpg stat stuff.  I can't wait to see how this one turns out.

There's also a PSP version coming out, but none of the people I know in real life are silly enough to spend money on that brick so I'd be left playing by myself.  The 360 version is online, though.  *starry eyes*

I'd get an Xbox360 just for Oblivion. It's awesome.

I prefer to play Elder Scroll games on the PC!

cheers,

Yeah... If I had a multi-thousand dollar computer, I would prefer that too! tongue

I just want to know who is doing the music.

Qui-Gon Joe Apr 19, 2006

The music for which?  For PSU, I'm guessing it's the same sound staff as PSO - the music (from what I could tell on the show floor) seems very similar to what we've heard in PSO, though it leans a little more toward the orchestral side of PSO rather than the techno-y synth stuff.  If they managed to get the composer from Dungeon Explorer II back for DE360 I would be SO HAPPY - that game has one of my favorite scores of all time (why can't I ever remember the guy's name though?  >_<  help!).

Yoshio Tsuru is the composer for DEII.

Thanks, Zaggart.  My brain is so not working today.  >_<

I don't care about PSU :\

Another acceptable returning composer for this Dungeon Explorer would be Tsukasa Masuko.

AHA!  That's why I've been confused about the composers for Dungeon Explorer.  As far as I can tell on the internet now, Masuko did the original compositions for the first game and Tsuru did the second game.  I can't remember very much music from DE2 that wasn't just pumped up arrangements of the stuff from 1, though, so I'm thinking Tsuru didn't really do very much composing for Dungeon Explorer?

Hopefully they'll release PSU for the Gamecube.....
