Excellent news, although I'm not too happy about how they're already condemning it to obscurity.

I don't know, my friend was playing this and he was telling me this wasn't the 10 out of 10 everyone was billing it as. He more or less thought if the J-RPG wasn't so played out and there was more to go up against and contrast it against it wouldn't be getting such high scores.

I don't say that to rain on anyone's parade or to say that I agree but I think it's a valid point to a certain degree. Still, I'm very RPG-ed out from the late 90's/early 00's. Also, I need another game console like I need a hole in the head. Barely touch the PS3 outside its backwards compatibility.

Do you really think it would sell well at Wal-Mart?

Just picked up my copy. Will dive in when studying and working aren't demolishing my free time.

I'm working through it now.  I've played about 42 hours or so at this point.  I find that it's solid, but in almost no way spectacular at this point.  I could not agree more with the thoughts of your friend.  It's a good game without question, but I don't really understand the insane praise it's getting.

Anyone else notice that the Gamestop exclusive was only for about a week or two? I've seen this for sale at other places...

Xenoblade is probably the best game I've played this generation. I would say it deserves all the praise it gets and more. =P

I'll formulate some longer thoughts later, but at 75 hours I'm inclined to jump into the camp of thinking that this game is freaking incredible.  I'm actually surprised because the hype was so high and I'm often let down by games where that happens.  After almost 2 years from Japanese release I'm inclined to say that it was worth the wait.
