Even though I pointedly did not like the puzzle gameplay in the demo, I really do want to experience the story, so the very easy mode sounds like something I'd enjoy.  That said, there's still no way I'm shelling out $60.  Here's hoping it'll get cheap like Demon's Souls did.

By some fun, I mean FANTASTIC! The game is SO refreshing, SO well done, and very very addictive. I know people have bitched about the difficulty level, but I will say that on Easy, it's not particularly hard. Oh yes, you will die, but it's not frustrating, at least not on Easy. And if you still suck at Easy (for whatever reason), Atlus has included a "very easy" mode for you wussies! Of course, the real draw here is the amazing storyline. Simply a work of art! I will however say that I found the puzzle portion of the game extremely enjoyable as well. The boss levels are hard, but there's a reason they are called "bosses". Also, for anyone who is single or in a relationship, in their late 20s-30s, I think the storyline will really resonate with you. Enjoy!

Everything you just said is what I was hoping the game to be, and it looks like it will be so. I picked up the big-ass deluxe edition today with the boxer shorts and sleazy pillow case and shit but can't bring myself to open it. I'll pick up the standard edition at some point in the near future. Really wanna check out that artboob, too.

How you diggin' the music, avatar?

I LOVE the music! OK, here's the thing, the music is mostly (not entirely) jazz and classic. It's relaxing but uplifting jazz music, and also beautifully arranged (and in my opinion exciting) classical music! I think it's worth shelling out the $60 just to get the soundtrack smile Of course the soundtrack is only the classical pieces, but I'm not complaining! By the way, the game also has a fantastic sense of humor. I've never heard anyone jump up and down and yell "Suck it!" while in the background Handel's Messiah is playing smile

As for the difficulty level, yes the Easy level is somewhat Easy (I've still manged to die numerous times during the boss sequences), but I would prefer a game to be on the easy side rather than frustrating. Also, don't think that Easy means you don't have to think or you can just press buttons... nope, that's not the case! And, if you want a challenge, go ahead and try the Normal difficulty! All in all, awesome game! I want to hear what others have to say after playing...

Edit: I should note that the 'Suck it!' is NOT related at all to what some of you gutter-minds might be thinking tongue In all honesty, though the game is certainly mature in many ways, it is not pornographic or "dirty" in any way. There is a bit of swearing in the game, but that is not overly done thankfully.

Finished it earlier today, what an incredible journey.
Full of metaphors, thought provoking and thoroughly engaging story.
Really enjoyed it.

If there is a Fry's Electronics near you, they have Deluxe Edition on sale for $59.99 (usually $79.99).

So, for those who have played the game, one question:

Catherine or Katherine?

Also, there are 8 different endings to the game! Plenty to let you go at least once more unto the breach...

I feel the game promotes a false choice fallacy with that decision, revealing it's sinister monoganormative agenda that it seemingly mocks in other parts of the game.

both girls are shit out of their minds, but I'd honeslty rather go with the harlot than the control freak. yeaimfreakykinkylikethatwhatchugoindoboutit?

this game actually makes block puzzles fun, for me, at least. its rather easy, especially when there's multiple paths you can take, multiple solutions to the same puzzle.

really enjoying the plot. they could've just made this an anime, and I still would've been happy. it still retains a lot of stylistic, esthetic similarities to the PS2 Persona games.

p.s. Vincent minutely reminds me of Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes); maybe it's the same voice actor they used for the English version?

After playing for over 30 hours, I've seem the "true" endings (there are a total of 8 endings, and 3 are "true"). The endings are hilarious, and really tie everything in together! In fact, to truly understand how it all ties in, you'll need to play through the game a few times. Of course, to see the entire game to completion (including the penultimate ending), you need to complete the ultra-hard Babel. To complete that, you need to get gold on EVERY single level on normal! Ouch... I certainly have not done that. Has anyone here? Anyway, to do all that will probably take another 30 hours. I don't have patience for that, but it's impressive that they did that. Really gives this "short" game new life. Hope others have enjoyed this wonderful experience as much as I...

That looks way more exciting than the main game. It's fascinating how the multi-player was kept mysterious as I don't remember seeing any breakdown of it in reviews or online forum discussions during the game's launch window.

Now available this month on XBOXONE.

How does xbox backwards compatibility work? I assume you need to download an update which lets you play the 360 games? I don't have a One, not sure I'll get one, but I like the backwards compatibility... although since I have a 360 not sure I should upgrade?
