I see you are getting Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright this week, while a North American release date has yet to be announced.

BLAST YOOOOUU

Speaking of which, I see no thread devoted to the last Layton game! So what do you all think about it? I finally finished it a couple days ago after spending way too much time trying to do the minigames and the World Times stuff. I really hate that Nutty Roller game.

Holy shit, you're alive! How you been?

I've always wanted to get into the Layton series, but I'm not much for the puzzles. I always feel like this when I play them.

That said, I'm really excited for the Layton x Wright game, if only we'd get it. I'd have to play it on my daughter's JP 3DS, but I wanna see what it'd be like. Still have a soft spot for the Wright universe, even if I lost interest after Apollo Justice.

I quite like the Layton series, even though the experience is always the same for me:
it starts out fun, then it gradually becomes more annoying as it goes on, and by the end I'm happy it's over.
And then, 2 years or so later, they'll have a new title and the entire process repeats.

Layton x Wright was my first experience with the Ace Attorney gameplay and I liked it enough to go back and try the main series.
Even having almost finished the 3rd game in the series now, I still think Layton x Wright was one of the funner games using that format (even if there's less variety than in the main games), and the fact that you get to do Layton-style puzzling in between cases instead of that horribly tedious investigation from the older games makes it a really great package that combines the best of both worlds.
And it looks gorgeous to boot!

The only downside is that the story is completely ridiculous, but that was probably more or less to be expected.

I have so much love for both Layton and AA but I never finished Miracle Mask and also haven't finished Dual Destinies. Both I began with loads of enthusiasm and it just sort of waned as I went on. I still intend to finish both and then pick up the subsequent Layton but I might hold off until I have all those finished before I pick up the crossover game.

in terms of game worlds though, Layton would easily be in my top ten of all time. It just oozes charm and is so different to any other game out there.

Doing relatively well. ^_^ I did get married last year, so at least all that stuff's finally done with, heh. I've been posting a few things here and there, mostly on the marketplace forum. I really need to sell off these last few things.

LOL...totally understand. I love trying to solve puzzles that are within my realm of ability (I tried tackling Google's series of tweeted puzzles when they were doing some kind of promotion, but MAN, you had to know some serious stuff), but I swear my solving ability and/or my patience has gone down considerably since the first Layton game.

YEAH! Are you on Facebook and following Level-5? They made a post about "Hey Europe and Australia, so how're you enjoying Layton vs Wright? Sorry, NA, we know there's yet to be a released date announced for you." ARGH!

Ohhh yeah, same here. I've written reviews about all the previous Layton games, but this one, ehh, I'll pass on reviewing. It just seems so anticlimactic after "Unwound Future."

Yup. For me, part of it was that other games came out so close to each other -- I finished DD, but I never did get around to downloading the last case, and then I got involved in Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and then the holidays came around. I finally did get the DLC case, but I haven't started it yet.
