The important stuff:

-newly arranged tracks will be included in the re-release of the Energy Breaker album.
-all of the music will be newly recorded from the actual hardware and then remastered.
-songs will loop twice (which was already kind of obvious from the three CD size of this release).

The original print of this album is rare and expensive as hell (going well over 30000 yen on YJA when it pops up there) so I'm glad this CD will finally become available to a broader audience. Let's hope the arrangements turn out nicely.

Don't be so sure...The 4-Disc Lufia set had no looped tracks and tons of empty disc space. VERY bad, considering the original release had loops for Lufia 2's music. That and the recording volume was far too low.

I've heard the SPC set for Energy Breaker, so I'm looking forward to this one a good bit. I do hope it comes out better than the Lufia set though.

If I'm not mistaken the old album fits all the tracks on one CD, so they´d have to screw up pretty bad to not get every track to loop twice when they have three times more space to fit the music on with the re-release. Maybe the backlash from fans who weren't happy about the problems you just mentioned explains why they're mentioning the tracks will loop twice in the description for the album (don't see that too often, I think). The thing I'm worried about most is how faithful the tracks will sound to the original SNES music. Well, at least they're recording the music from the original hardware. It's the remastering bit I'm worried about.

Scitron's website is explicitly telling us that the tracks will loop twice (it even says that in the CDjapan description).  For the Lufia album, they never explicitly said that the tracks would loop twice.

What was Energy Breaker?

A SNES strategy RPG by Neverland (aka "the guys who did Lufia")". Actually, it's closer to being a 'tactical RPG', like Final Fantasy Tactics......or, well, Onimusha Tactics, since there isn't a job system (that I know of).

It's quite pretty. There's a translation in progress, and I believe it's in the script-editing/insertion phase, if not father along. Not quite near release, though.

The important thing as far as this board is concerned is that the music was worked on by Shiono and Nakajima (and some other guy), and is some really great stuff (if not as exceptional as Lufia 2 or Chaos Seed).

That this is going to be three CDs is kind of surprising, since the SPC set comes out to about two hours.....and I would think that they wouldn't be adding in enough arrangements to warrant a third CD. Curious indeed.

EDIT: Goldfish you are my mortal enemy

I like your version better, to be honest. I knew nothing about the game, but the music is definitely one of the better SPC sets available.

Nice to hear about the translation project in the works.
