Take a search around the net with this catalog number:

The album was set for release a few days ago (3/21, with a slew of other VGM albums). However, Play-Asia has taken down all their links. Amazon Japan doesn't list it, JBook removed their listing, all sorts of other badness happened.

Can anyone dig up any verifiable facts on this one?

It was a limited edition, with only 5000 copies produced.  It probably sold out before its release.  Either that or it was cancelled.

"only"? That's pretty much the usual average amount for OST releases, super-hyped series aside.

There's been many a Limited Edition where only 1000 get made.
5000 is plentiful enough not to be 'Limited' in my view (in terms of vgm) and if all of them sold out, then hey that's doing pretty good.

If 5000 is plentiful, but the album sold out before its retail release...it would have to be one mighty popular album.

And, my first thought: it isn't a mighty popular album...?

Something fishy here. I still think it was cancelled...
