GMR Online: http://www.gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=FVCG-1048

CD Japan: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=FVCG-1048

Can anyone give me more information than what I've already gleaned?

E.g., what style of music I can expect?

Maybe what kind of gm the soundtrack was made for?

I like Hiroto Saitoh, at least, the couple of tracks he did for the Phantom Kingdom Arrange (one was a jazz track, the other, techno), but he seems to be doing a lot of classical-styled work now (Berwick Saga, Folks Soul/Lost Folklore, Palais de Reine).

I just got my copy in the mail today. While I haven't listened to all of it yet, it seems to combine traditional Asian soundscapes with subtle electronica.

VGMdb is your friend.

Eh, see, I searched under VGM db before, and nothing turned up...

EDIT: Oh, wait...is it "Ayakashi no Miya" or "Ayashi no Miya?" One has a "K," the other doesn't...

Searched using the catalogue number, (FVCG-1048), and nothing turned up...

Hmm, CD Japan has it listed under "Ayakashi no Miya" : http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=FVCG-1048

Although, they've been wrong on product details before...even on titles...case-in-point, "No More Heroes" : http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=MJCD-20108

Just look at the title. See a letter missing, maybe?

At any rate, thanks for the tracklist!

VGM db is becoming really good at keeping up with new releases...

On VGMdb? All I had to do was copy and paste the catalogue number you provided into the search bar and it brought it directly up.

Tried it again, and it worked...they must've just posted the information recently...

EDIT: Ahh, "Posted October 9 by Gigablah." No wonder. The information wasn't posted last time I checked; I checked October 3 (when I first made this thread), and it wasn't posted up yet...

This is definitely Ayashi no Miya, or the title on the cover is wrong.

In other words, CD Japan's titled it improperly? Ain't that a bitch...and they're supposed to be Japanese...

ANYWAY, about the music itself...it's splendid! It's like...Asian-fusion-pop...take traditional Japanese-styled music, and then put in some pop beats for support, and you get this! I am greatly reminded of the old Mystical Ninja/Ganbare Goemon soundtracks, and to a lesser extent, Onimusha and Tenchu.

Hiroto Saitoh is proving himself to be a very versatile composer, what with a lot of the jazz/techno fusion he does on a lot of Supersweep albums, the orchestral style he's done on Berwick Saga, Folks Soul, and Palais de Reine, and now Asian-fusion on this! I only wish this guy would do longer soundtracks! I especially wish he'd do more jazz/techno, because the two tracks he did on Phantom Kingdom Arrange are what got me interested in him in the first place, and of course, the original versions he did for the Phantom Kingdom OST were also quite splendid!
