Anyone got any more information on this soundtrack than what I've already found?

Haven't played the game, so I haven't heard the music...

Also flipping through some YouTube clips of the game, and hearing some of the music that way, but I can't do that all day...

Found this YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0YotcnR6CM

PRESS THE BUTTON AT THE RIGHT TIME TO SEE A CINEMATIC SCENE!! CLOSE UP ON THE FACE!! CLOSE UP ON THE FACE AGAIN!! CLOSE UP ON THE FACE YET AGAIN!!

...

Obviously, I'm looking for samples, but I'm wondering if anybody here has gotten it and formed any opinions of it already?

Another soundtrack by Norihiko Hibino...is it more ambient/industrial stuff, or does the soundtrack actually have some semblance of melody this time around? Should I expect some really chill stuff, or bombastic, action-packed stuff?

Zane has a review going up on OSV of Wednesday or next week.  I suppose I have a biased opinion, but this soundtrack is actually pretty warm, with a lot of acoustic tracks as well.  Two tracks by The Outer Rim.

EDIT:  Do other people want to hear some samples?  Perhaps I can get Hibino to record some if more people are interested.

Damn it Bern, by watching the Youtube clip you just linked to, you already have the answers to your own questions.

Are you serious?? Were you not even paying ANY attention to that video??

Did that music from the video seem "chill" or did it seem bombastic and action packed...  OH, It was action packed?!?!  I never would have guessed!!!

If watching the visuals was too distracting, just turn off your monitor while the clip is playing and your brain will be able to focus on hearing the music more.

you can ask this about conceivably anything, from clips of VGM to starter tubes of the black plague, and someone somewhere will say "yes".

Whoa, take it easy there; just because the one piece I heard was bombastic and action-packed doesn't mean the whole album is...but I get your point.

To your credit, at least you looked it up on vgmdb this time, and started doing research on your own, so that's an improvement.

But it's also fine to use that as the foundation of what the end product will be.
While there might be one or two menu-style tracks which might be slower, the majority WILL be like that clip because it's the MAIN THEME.

And when Hibino himself mentions "Hollywood Action Style" a total of 3 different times in his own youtube video about the music, that pretty much guarantees it's going to be mostly Dramatic Action like the Main Theme was.

That I do. And I'll give you a quick preview: this album f'ing owns. Totally blown away by GEM on this one. Great mix of action tracks, calmer tunes, lots of Eastern influence, a few nods to the MGS style of composition... it's a great soundtrack.
