With 2006 still well ahead of us, are there any upcoming film scores you're looking forward to, speculatively or no?

Last I'd heard, Michael Giacchino was on board for Mission: Impossible 3; is that still holding water?  I can see him working magic on it -- just look at The Incredibles.

Although I would've liked to see Klaus Badelt taking lead role for Pirates of The Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest, I wouldn't be surprised if Zimmer and the Media Ventures cross-over will produce a similar - and hopefully, even better - sound.  At least bring back the main theme from The Black Pearl!

The new Indiana Jones seems highly unlikely for this year, but.....  John Williams?  Pretty please?  Speaking of which, I wonder who will be doing The Order of The Phoenix?  Although having Williams back would be nice (and strong rumors persist that may be the case), Doyle has proven quite capable of creating an excellent Potter score as well. 

Definitely looking forward to Superman Returns.  Is John Ottman on board for X3 too?

As far as I know, he's still the composer. I just wish he'd get some work that doesn't require him to mimic the work of a different composer (aside from his television work).

Honestly, it's hard to say how much Badelt wrote for the first movie, considering there were like eight or so composers for it. As far as Zimmer goes, I'm hoping that he writes it alone. I'm not a big fan of the composer but he's done good work in the past.

Man, I wish. I want more John Williams this year! I wouldn't mind him coming back for Harry Potter. Doyle's score was nice but it was tragically undermixed in the movie. As well as Indiana Jones, he might return for Jurassic Park 4 (although that's hardly confirmed and probably won't be for a while).

John Ottman is definitely not doing X3. The last I checked, it was John Powell. Be afraid. Be very afraid...

Let's see... You've pretty much mentioned all the stuff I'm looking forward to. There's also Danny Elfman's "Charlotte's Web" and James Newton-Howard's "Freedomland", I'm also dying for the complete TTT and RotK CD sets (which are set for mid-2006 and late 2006, so sayeth rumors)

WTF!?  What the.....!  Argh, that is the most disappointing news I've heard in this fresh new year.  I guess it figures that with Singer departing the X-Men franchise to direct Superman, that Ottman would leave as well, but after his score for X2 (one of my recent faves) I had my hopes up.  Man that just sucks.

Oh mannnn...please don't tell me it's live-action and 'whimsical' like Cat in the Hat or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which I KNOW was already live-action, before you correct me), which is to say noisy, slapstick, and loaded with innuendos. The sadness will consume me.

I didn't care much for Ottman's score. On the other hand, I'd rather have Ottman than Powell.

I'm actually not sure... I know that it has a lot of voice actors in it (and Oprah of all people), but that doesn't necessarily mean anything these days.
