I found the weirdest thing on the internet... apparently Makoto Tomozawa did the music for Dr. Wily's Revenge on the Game Boy?

My question is when did this come to light? First of all I thought the Rockman World titles were all outsourced and none of these games (save World 2) have a credit roll.

Quite honestly, if true, well... this is just damn awesome. I freakin' LOVE the score for Dr. Wily's Revenge... great stuff.

But really can anyone vouch for this?

I can see that if it were true. Outside of the arrangements of the MM1 themes (which make up about 3/4 of the whole soundtrack), the two Dr. Wily stage themes definitely have that fresh sparkle a lot of her MM music has to it (thinking of stuff like the more upbeat MM Legend tracks and Strikeman) and are just fresh, classic additions to the series. I wish she had done more for the series, her main body of work seems to be the Resident Evil series and I doubt even she can make that interesting to me.

Are there any interviews or anything about her?

I don't know, she did the music for MM Legends 1 & 2 which had some memorable moments IMO. I know the score for the first game did encounter some criticism... but GamePro was kind of talking out of their ass on that one.

The tracks that have been identified as hers in Mega Man 7 are some of the most instrumental from that score IMO as well.

Pretty sure Makoto Tomozawa is a 'he'. You're not missing out on his Resident Evil works -- 1 features the worst score in the series in my opinion, with 6 just behind. The original Dino Crisis is pure crap too.

Really? Every "Makoto" I know of is a she. I thought that was a female given name in Japanese.

It's a unisex name.

I think the original RE is pretty weak as well, especially compared to 2... but you'd be surprised how many people love it. A TON of people were miffed when the game's music was changed in Director's Cut.

None of those are confirmed artists and I'm pretty sure it's all just speculative.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted. Kind of counting the chickens before they hatch there VGGdb?

They're usually pretty good about not adding credits before release or confirming but they have always used speculative crediting for albums without breakdowns, which I've never really been a fan of. It's whatever's listed in the liner notes or nothing for me. I just don't like the speculative part of it, leaves way too much for interpretation of fuzzy information.

Just in case some people here are not familiar with the pratice, if an artist is not linked he's not confirmed (yet). And only when linked the work will appear on the artists' pages.
